Job description

We are seeking enthusiastic and dedicated staff, with a keen eye for detail, to join our Finance team. The role will be integral to the running of Green Pastures as you use your skills, expertise and knowledge in Finance to facilitate our ethical model of purchasing homes to house the homeless. Our Accounts team are the foundation of the Finance department within Green Pastures. We manage the preparation of the financial statements, balance sheet, cash flow, day-to-day reconciliations, payroll, purchase and sales ledgers and Investor Loan Stock management. We also manage and conduct regular internal audits and put controls in place to make sure that we not only comply with all necessary law and regulation, but that Green Pastures continues to operate in good financial health.

In one year the total value of the transactions we processed came to over £719 million, with more than 40,000 individual transactions - this is a lot of work and a lot of responsibility, but something we do with integrity, enthusiasm and passion.


This fantastic role is to support the Directors and Finance team with the administration of investments as we continue to expand in releasing the Church to end homelessness. This job requires attention to detail as you will be checking and ensuring all entries in Loan Stock system are posted correctly and efficiently. Other responsibilities will include producing loan stock reports for the Finance Manager and ensuring all information migrates between Loans Stock and accounts software.

Your role is pivotal to the smooth-running of Green Pastures, directly facilitating the purchasing of houses to provide homes for the homeless.

  • Ensure timely communication with all investors.
  • To credit checks for investments that are relevant and ensure correct identification is present to all applications
  • Ensure all entries into software are posted correctly
  • Check all documentation generated for loan stock prior to distribution.
  • Report to Finance Manager all payment for end of loan or interest payments on a weekly basis.
  • Communicate with Directors for request of early redemptions
  • Manage communication between solicitors and POA in relation to a death of an investor
  • Generate accruals for interest and CT61 Return for HMRC
  • Excellent confidentiality skills and a good understanding of GDPR rules
  • Report and track different trends on investments including weighted averages and terms.
  • Record and analyse marketing resources
  • Updating the website with current investment information.
  • General administrative task

Exerpeience & Knowledge

  • Experience of working with investment management (Desirable).
  • Experience of working within a Finance Department (Desirable).
  • Understanding or previous experience working within the sector (Desirable).

  • A good basic level of education 


  • Flexible approach to workload and tasks dependent on departmental requirements at the time.
  • Keen desire to learn and develop new skills.
  • A good team ethic.
