Greenpeace is an international non-profit global campaigning organisation. Our independence and global reach enables us to stand for positive change through action in order to defend nature and promote peace. We investigate and expose global environmental problems, confront those in positions of power and present alternative solutions.
As one of our Digital Campaigners, you will develop and deliver strategic plans and digital communications for our campaigns and social media channels, to encourage mass audiences to become involved in online or offline activism to help win Greenpeace campaigns. These strategies seek to deepen our relationship with existing supporters, as well as recruit new supporters.
We need self-motivated individuals who understand how digital tools can help influence the debate to bring about change. We are looking for individuals who can grasp the issues, spot opportunities, and mobilise Greenpeace supporters to intervene in some of the most dynamic and important debates of our time.
In any given week your work will cover a wide range of topics, requiring you to work on one or more of our campaigns – to protect the Arctic, defend our oceans and protect the Earth’s ancient forests and stop climate change.
To be successful you’ll be great at spotting opportunities to intervene in the online debate about Greenpeace Campaigns and be able to translate complex political, scientific and environmental information into succinct and clear messages that successfully reach new and existing supporters. You will also:
- Have excellent communication, interpersonal and diplomacy skills, as this role will test your ability to organise and improvise.
- Be equally adept in facing and communicating with openly hostile audiences as with the passionately supportive.
- Have an understanding of the value of investigative work, the role of mobilising people towards action and building engaging relationships with people.
- Believe in our aims and have significant and proven voluntary or paid experience in online organising, campaigning or communications.
