We are looking for an experienced fundraiser with a background in securing income from charitable trusts and foundations to join our team. Groundswell has rapidly grown over the past few years; our #HealthNow campaign alongside the expansion of our Homeless Health Peer Advocate (HHPA) services and research consultancy across the country has grown our brand, networks and impact. Our turnover is just over £2million, bought in by a small but effective team generating income from a range of voluntary and statutory sources. Within Fundraising and Communications, we have a Director and a Communications Officer; yet colleagues across the organisation generate income from statutory sources and our social enterprises (research and training). We’re always working together to be as effective as possible.
This is an incredibly exciting time to join Groundswell – the value of taking a health approach to the homelessness crisis combined with our unique insight into the lived experience of homelessness is generating interest and opportunities. Nevertheless, we know that with the impact of COVID-19 on the economy, changes in commissioning and competition amongst charities who have had to change their fundraising approaches, means the future is unknown.
Working at Groundswell brings you a busy, positive, and enthusiastic environment which you’ll benefit from no matter where you are based. There is no shortage of dedicated staff and volunteers full of ideas on how to overcome homeless health inequalities and influence the sector to use the insight of lived experience to develop solutions to homelessness. You will be a crucial part of the team, working closely with the Senior Management Team, particularly the Fundraising and Communications Director to maintain relationships with our network of existing funders and grow Groundswell’s income. You will be experienced in trusts and foundations but enjoy variety in this role, for example engaging with corporate or individual supporters or assisting SMT with a statutory funding process. You will be a flexible worker with strong organisational, research and written communication skills. You will pride yourself in collaborative working to ensure the most successful chance of securing income, whilst being a self-starter who can manage their own workload effectively.
