Salary: £17,850 - £21,000 FTE per annum
Contract Type:15 - 22.5 hours per week, fixed term for 6 months (possible extension funding dependent)

ROLE DESCRIPTION: 
This is an exciting opportunity to join the new outdoor party team, manage and deliver projects and activities for children and young people as well as a wider programme of community events at The Vench.

The Vench is an adventure playground and youth centre located in Lockleaze offering an exciting and safe space for children and young people to meet, play and learn. We run a range of events throughout the year for the whole community and deliver local environmental project.

We are looking for a dynamic Project Officer who can develop an exciting new nature themed, birthday party initiative, aimed at increasing the sustainability of The Vench. Once established the Project Officer will manage and deliver parties at The Vench to primary aged children (4-11 years), featuring many fun and engaging activities such as treasure hunts, den building and nature crafts. The Vench is located on the doorstep of Stoke Park, which comprises of 270 acres of grassland, woodland and glades.

The successful candidate will be a good communicator, with an outgoing and confident personality, excellent organisational and time management skills, enthusiastic about the countryside and woodland life and keen to pass this on to children and young people.

The Project Officer will need to work flexibly, ensuring that they can work during the week when no parties are booked and on weekends, evenings and during school holidays as required.

Main Duties

  • To develop, manage and deliver birthday party packages on weekends, evenings and during school holidays at The Vench
  • To develop, plan and deliver education projects, community events and activities for children, young people and the local community at The Vench, with the support of the Centre Manager
  • To market and promote birthday parties and events
  • To support the Centre Manager with day to day running of The Vench
  • To support the Centre Manager to develop new projects and write funding bids
  • To supervise volunteers and zero-hour staff members in delivery
  • To collect regular feedback to support project evaluation
  • To work to agreed deadlines and operate within budget
  • To report on a monthly basis to your line manager how the projects are progressing and any issues arising
