Job Title: Community Fundraiser (Gloucestershire)
Hours: 22.5 hours per week
Salary: £24,000 pro rata
Location: Gloucestershire (Gloucester or Stroud)
We are looking for a Community Fundraiser to join our team. You will be responsible for proactively developing fundraising support for Guideposts, through the building of strong and sustainable relationships with a wide range of community groups including local businesses.
Guideposts exists to help improve the lives of individuals who face any number of complex challenges; from learning disability and mental health problems to age-related conditions, such as dementia, and the people who care for them. Whether through active care and support, information and guidance or skills training all our services are focussed on helping people lead independent and fulfilling lives, feel valued and included in their local community.
We are looking for an enthusiastic fundraiser to develop fundraising support from supporters in the area, particularly focusing on community groups, local businesses, and educational organisations.
You will actively raise awareness of the charity’s fantastic work and fundraising activities, developing fundraising ideas that engage local audiences, working closely with our local service teams.
You will have strong networking skills and the ability to build relationships effectively and represent the charity at a variety of events and meetings, including local business network meetings giving impactful presentations about the charity’s work.
As part of the role you will provide excellent relationship management from initial enquiry to follow up and stewardship, to maximise supporters’ experience of the charity ensuring all supporters are thanked in a timely and appropriate manner.
You will recruit volunteers to support local fundraising initiatives and events.
Establish and maintain effective systems to record all fundraising, communications and volunteer activities keeping relevant records up to date on the charity’s donor database ensuring Gift Aid is maximised where possible.
As part of the role there will be a requirement for regular travel across the county and to our other sites so a driving licence and use of a vehicle is essential.
You will also need to be willing to work unsocial hours (including weekends and evenings) to support community fundraising initiatives, activities and events.

Effective time management skills and the ability to prioritise conflicting workloads successfully
