Hackney Winter Night Shelter will be running from a “fixed” venue in Stoke Newington over winter 2020-21. We are adapting our service due to the coronavirus pandemic to make sure that everyone is safe and that we are covid-secure.
We are recruiting overnight workers (two posts) to ensure the security, safety and wellbeing of our night shelter guests and the building overnight. Hours will be 9.30pm to 8.30am (with one hour unpaid break) and includes working every other weekend. Some flexibility would be an advantage.
Experience of working in homelessness is not essential, but the successful applicant must have the abllity to build a good rapport with people at all levels and able to deal with emergencies calmly and confidently.
You will be the sole worker on site overnight.
The contract is until end March 2021, with possibility of extension.
We will be interviewing on a rolling basis as we receive applications, initially by Zoom.
