We are seeking to recruit a part-time or full-time Senior Grants & Trusts Fundraiser to be based at our Spalding office (PE11) with opportunities for remote working. We will also consider exceptional home-based applicants able to work at least 1 day per week from our Spalding headquarters.

We are looking for a confident, organised, personable and proactive fundraising professional to lead our grants and trusts fundraising initiatives. You will be an enthusiastic communicator, passionate about improving healthcare for people with genetic haemochromatosis. You will have extensive experience of raising funds from trusts, foundations and corporate donors. You will be strategic yet creative and possess strong donor report writing skills.

This is a key role, reporting directly to our Chief Executive, working within a small, close-knit fundraising team. This is a varied role with significant responsibility and a fantastic opportunity to join our growing team at an exciting time in our development.

Key responsibilities 

In this exciting and high-profile role, you will lead on writing bid applications, managing our existing portfolio of donors, impact reporting to funders and contributing to the development of our charitable programmes.

You will be a proactive and enthusiastic team player, someone who relishes a challenge and craves fundraising success. You will have exceeded objectives in a previous role and be highly results oriented. You will enjoy all aspects of the fundraising lifecycle from prospecting and bid writing through to impact analysis and reporting.

With a close attention to detail, you will have a flair for packaging up our existing programmes to excite and attract new funding bodies to support our work.

Qualifications, competencies and experience – essential (E) and desirable (D)


  • At least 3 years’ experience of successfully securing significant grants (E)
  • Proven track record of securing significant grants (£5k - £250k per funder) (E)
  • Outstanding grant application/bid writing skills  (E)
  • Solid research and prospecting skills using a variety of techniques and tools (D)
  • Strong relationship building skills across grant awarding bodies, trusts and foundations (D)
  • Experience of analysing and reporting impact concisely and enthusiastically to our funders (D)


  • Educated to degree level or equivalent (E)
  • Fundraising qualifications and/or MIoF (D)
