Job description

Hamilton College is more than a school – it is a journey – a journey in education, in developing talents and gifts and in creating self-belief.  Hamilton College is a non-denominational Christian independent school for children and young people from the ages of 2-18.

This is an exciting opportunity to become part of the team at Hamilton College, in leading the school and charity, and ensuring its continued success.  Due to retirements, we are looking to expand the current Board as regards skills and numbers.

Being a Governor at Hamilton College is both challenging and rewarding.  It provides you with a chance to make a real difference in the lives of young people and to invest your gifts in a Boardroom environment.  It demands a considerable amount of time, and it comes with no remuneration!

Governors are Directors of Christian Schools (Scotland) Limited and are expected to be involved in the life of the school acknowledging that Hamilton College is a Christian school.

The Board is particularly keen to recruit individual(s) with expertise in a variety of skillsets.  Applicants with an educational background would be particularly welcome.

Membership of the Protection of Vulnerable Groups Scheme will be required.
