This is an exciting opportunity to work within a multi-disciplinary, early intervention Mental Health Support Team (MHST) to increase and improve emotional and mental health provision within education settings for 5-18 year olds. You will be working within a successful Trailblazer site, which has emerged out of the government’s December 2017 plans: Transforming Children and Young People’s Mental Health Provision: a Green Paper.
The Whole Schools Approach (WSA) to Mental Health (MH) Adviser will be a part of our Youth Services Trailblazer teams and will work to support schools and colleges in Hammersmith & Fulham, Kensington & Chelsea and the Queen’s Park – Paddington area of Westminster to develop a whole school approach to mental health. This will involve working with selected education settings to develop and upgrade their emotional wellbeing and mental health (EWMH) policies and procedures, embed EWMH activities and events in the annual calendar and support staff wellbeing.
The aim of the service is to deliver services that meet identified needs and gaps within schools and to promote a culture that is supportive of EWMH for all school stakeholders, within the model of a whole school approach to MH.
