Job description

Wilder Campaigns & Events Officer
Salary circa £23,000 - £24,000 pa (depending on experience & qualifications);
Full-time, 35 hours per week; permanent contract; post based at Curdridge, near Botley, Hampshire

Hampshire and Isle of Wight Wildlife Trust is the leading local nature conservation charity and is one of the largest of the county-based Wildlife Trusts with a lively, dedicated and passionate team of just over 100 staff and around 1,400 volunteers.

This is an exciting opportunity for someone with experience of delivering engaging campaigns and events to be part of creating a wilder future for our two counties.

Wildlife is in freefall both locally and nationally and we are facing a nature emergency. In order to put nature into recovery, we need many more people on nature’s side.

We are looking for a highly motivated, creative and enthusiastic person to join our team and help us deliver an exciting new programme - ‘Team Wilder’ – encouraging thousands of individuals, groups and communities to take action for wildlife. The programme includes working with local communities to create wilder towns and cities, encouraging more people to garden for wildlife and inspiring more young people to get involved. This role will support our important new programme through the delivery of creative materials, communications and campaigns as well as helping to organise events and other engagement activity.

The role would suit someone with a passion for environmental and conservations issues, who enjoys finding creative and effective ways of inspiring and mobilising people to act.

Our ideal candidate should have experience of developing and delivering effective public-facing engagement campaigns, using both on and offline tools.

This is a new role within the Advocacy and Engagement team and will work closely with the Engagement Manager as well as with colleagues in Marketing and Communications and across the Trust. The ability to build positive working relationships, both internally and externally is a must.

If you have the skills and experience to help the Wildlife Trust create a movement of people taking action and would like to play a role in nature’s recovery, we’d love to hear from you.

Closing date: Midday – Friday 11th October 2019
Interviews: Wednesday 16th October 2019

The Wildlife Trust (TWT) value diversity and we're committed to creating an inclusive culture where everyone is able to be themselves and to reach their full potential.
