This new post will play a key role in developing and delivering streamlined and robust financial systems and processes within our small, dynamic and multi-skilled staff team.
Hardshaw and Mann Area Quaker Meeting Charity is responsible for 4 places of worship in the North West, the largest of which is Liverpool Meeting House, a large modern building situated in Liverpool One. As well as being a place of worship, Liverpool Meeting House provides a not-for-profit room hire business which generates income for the charity and aims to provide a welcoming space for visitors, local businesses, other charities and community groups. Room hire also takes place at our smaller meeting houses in Wigan, Southport and St Helens.
Working closely with our General Manager and reporting to the Area Meeting Treasurer, the Finance Officer will be based primarily at Liverpool Meeting House. The ideal candidate will have experience in a financial role, preferably within a charity or voluntary sector setting; they will be a cooperative team-player and will be confident and self-motivated when required to work independently. We welcome applications from people of any faith or none, however the successful applicant will be expected to carry out the duties of the role in accordance with Quaker values, helping the charity to uphold the Quaker testimonies of peace, simplicity, equality and truth.
The post is initially a 12-month contract. Subject to review, may become permanent.
Hours: 16 hours per week (negotiable).
Some home-working may be considered, but the role holder will be expected to attend Liverpool Meeting House in person at least once a week ( future Covid restrictions permitting)
