The Role and Responsibilities
The Head of Finance is responsible for financial planning, control and reporting across the organisation, and for leading the changes to our financial systems and processes to support the Charity's strategy. The post holder will work closely with the CEO, COO and the Finance and Risk Committee to provide strategic financial advice and oversight. The role holder will also manage the Senior Digital & Business Intelligence Officer who is responsible for day-to-day accounts payable and internal reporting.
The Head of Finance and Operations will lead on the production of annual budgets, forecasting, management accounts, financial submissions and the annual accounts for auditing. The role will also involve risk management and ensuring compliance with the CHARITY's Charter, CHARITY Regulations and with charity and company law.
- Chartered Member of a relevant financial body (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent)
- Senior-level experience in financial management in the voluntary/charitable sector, including experience of producing annual returns, annual accounts, complying with SORP, supporting external audits
- Experience of providing financial leadership and oversight in organisations of 2m+
- Good understanding of charity and company finances and relevant legal / regulatory obligation
