Your new company
One of the largest housing association, part of the G15. They are one of the most supportive housing association across the UK in terms on Mental Health, Adult Social Care and Resident Welfare.

Your new role
As Head of Corporate Communications you will be leading a team of five and report into the CEO, the communications team supports the organisation to achieve its corporate objectives. The next year will be a particularly challenging one, so your role will be to strategically lead and advise the team on how to best approach sensitive communications challenges and act as a senior leader for briefings, media training and combating negative attention . In this role you won't be redesigning the communications strategy or reorganising the team, but more leading and advising the team, during a trying time. Aside from that the organisation are also looking to grow, expand and develop their public affairs campaigns over the next year and are really looking to focus their attention on Adult Social Care and Homelessness. This role has some budget responsibility, the budget is small and mainly for staffing and software. The organisation are very collaborative, you will be liaising with a number of internal teams from HR, Marketing and Policy, in making sure all messaging is consistent and on brand.

What you'll need to succeed
We are looking for a strong senior media professional that has lead broad teams, focused on Media, Crisis Communications, Public Affairs and External Communications. You will likely come from the public sector with a good understanding of the housing sector, ideally you will have previous experience within a large housing association or local government with a good understanding of social housing and social care. The main channels you are using as a team are traditional and social media, website content, public affairs, brand, online and offline publications. To be able to lead the team, you must have a good understanding of all of these channels.
