Fundraising and Development Manager - £35,067-£37,489 per annum pro rata Permanent role

A mission-oriented charity organisation is looking to appoint a new fundraising and development manager to join their organisation. This foundation seeks to inspire communities and make a positive contribution. Your role would support the Foundation to raise enough money to ensure that students have the life skills and aspirations to successfully begin their journeys and flourish into exceptional, well-rounded members of society. This role reports into the Director of Finance and operations. The foundation offers a friendly and supportive environment with a whole range of professional development opportunities as well as internal and external training throughout the year. The organisation holds values of joy, perseverance, leadership, charity and forgiveness which underpin everything they stand for.

Main responsibilities include:

  • In conjunction with the leadership team, implement a fundraising strategy that will include trust, corporate, and individual giving
  • Devise and coordinate effective gift acknowledgement and donor stewardship
  • Ensure that accurate records are kept of fundraising operations and donations, in line with the Data Protection Act
  • Prospect research and approach planning
  • Ensuring effective communication of fundraising development to the leadership team, governors, the Foundation trustees, staff, students, and parents
  • Presenting to appropriate management, governor and trustee meetings as and when required
  • Seek out new partnerships with third party organisations to offer new experiences for students
  • Ensure that former students have regular information about the Academy and that an alumni database is held
  • Lead on organising fundraising events that engage the Academy and local community
  • Develop and manage a local business partnership programme
  • Design all fundraising materials and maintain a folder on google drive for all materials
  • Increase income from grant making bodies by writing compelling bids
  • Ensure that donor reports meet requirements and contracts, and that they are of a high standard and submitted on time
  • Establish a range of new income streams, with a particular emphasis on the application of digital technology e.g. the use of Crowdfunding, as the basis for establishing a more diverse range of income
  • Work with the Principal on Marcoms


The successful candidate will have:

  • Possess appropriate qualifications and / or experience in a similar role
  • Be ICT literate and be able to operate software effectively to support your role (windows and MAC an advantage)
  • Have experience of school data and fundraising system (Experience of Donorfy CRM system and SIMS would be an advantage but training will be given)
  • Possess the ability to time manage and prioritise effectively in a busy office and school environment
  • Be able to deal discreetly with confidential information
  • Show evidence of continued professional development.
  • Presentation and data analysis experience
  • Possess GDPR awareness and its impact on your role
