Your new company
World class university based in London, committed to the highest standard in research and education, are currently seeking a Project Officer on a 5month interim basis to provide support to their growing business development team. This commercial education team works with university faculties and external private and public sector organisations to both design and develop open and bespoke educational programmes and support the expansion of university's commercial consultancy activities and international strategic collaborations.

Your new role
You will support the work of this key team within the university, where duties could include:

  • Working closely with the Business Development Managers to help source, develop, and promote new opportunities;
  • Take responsibility for certain elements of the activities, including administration, marketing, reporting, logistical support, research, and other operational activities as required;
  • Provide administrative support to committees and groups, which will include arranging meetings, writing minutes, and managing communications for the group;
  • Build productive relationships with colleagues across the university in order to share knowledge and facilitate excellent service delivery on programmes, tenders and projects, and other business development and commercial opportunities;
  • To undertake research and propose new course/programme proposals in conjunction with the Business Development Manager;
  • Identify tender opportunities (Requests for Proposals and Invitations to Tender) and match relevant Faculty (academic experts and departments) to the opportunity;
  • To follow the due diligence reporting process for new clients, reporting any identified risks;
  • Help draft the costing and pricing of proposals to ensure that they are in line with the university's procedures and policies, and manage budgets (income and expenditure), payments and transfers for allocated programmes as required;
  • Generate marketing and communications materials to promote programmes to internal and external audiences;
  • Assist in the organisation of visits by international delegations and VIPs including the preparation of presentations and briefs, and delivery of the programme as required (COVID-19 permitting).

What you'll need to succeed
You will have proven administration skills coupled with well-developed communication skills to support client relationship management; able to communicate with a range of stakeholders and adapt your approach as appropriate in order to develop effective engagement and successful relationships. Basic contract and financial/budgeting skills would also be advantageous.

What you'll get in return
This is an interim position paying 18.00-20.00ph + holiday pay PAYE depending on experience (or up to £25ph umbrella) working 35 hours a week. The role will be on a hybrid basis with 2-3 days a week in the central London offices and the remainder at home. The role is available for an immediate start following successful interview and expected to run initially until February 2022.
