Job Description

An exciting opportunity has arisen with a new global platform whose mission is to serve people who wish to donate at times of humanitarian crisis, through an expert led service and identifying the most effective charities on the ground.
They are looking for a passionate and forward-thinking Head of Research with expertise in qualitative research and communications to manage a small team of researchers to help identify the most effective charities on the ground and deliver the organisation's mission and vision.

Key Responsibilities:
-Help deliver the organisitions's mission and vision as part of the management team, including organizational risk analysis, strategic research, the optimization of the researcher journey and the continuous improvement of the research methodology
-To further development of the research strategy, its implementation, monitoring and adapting as the organisation changes and grows, on both a strategic and tactical level
-The rigour, accuracy, balance and authority of the research related aspects of the platform and all output
-Managing the research team so that the team flourishes, remains highly productive, proactive, rigorous, mission-centric, user-centred and each researcher loves working at the organisation
-Speaking and writing publicly about the organisation, it's research and the country/countries you'll cover, in a range of formats for a range of audiences, including thought-leadership pieces and interviews, blogs and in-depth research papers
-Protect and project the organisation's brand, reputation, values, culture and governing principles

Skills and experience required:
-Master's degree from a top tier university with training in qualitative methodologies, or equivalent experience
-Experience developing successful research strategies with heavy emphasis on qualitative research techniques and methods
-The proven use of various mixed qualitative methods with demonstrable impact
Considerable experience in successfully managing teams (with direct line management experience)
-Excellent communication and presentation skills, with considerable experience writing in a range of formats for a range of audiences
-Capacity to write concise, compelling and user-centred copy
-Experience speaking with media sources authoritatively
-Area knowledge of at least one country in the developing world
-Experience in specialist prospect research and CRM database services
-A demonstrable ability to analyse and synthesise large amounts of complex data effectively and efficiently
-Broad understanding of the not-for-profit sector and ability to translate this knowledge into opportunities for new areas of organizational growth
