Due to the rapid expansion of Day One Trauma Support over the last three years, the charity’s infrastructure has needed to respond quickly to meet its changing demands. There is now a requirement to ensure that the Finance and Resources team has the right skill set and capacity to provide the support needed by the charity in an efficient and proactive way.

The HR Officer and Executive Assistant role is a newly created position to reflect both the growing HR needs of the charity as the workforce expands, and the executive support required by the CEO and Senior Leadership Team (SLT) to ensure the efficient and effective running of the charity. This is a key role which is instrumental in bringing the HR and organisational administration functions together at an operational level.

Reporting primarily to the Director of Finance and Resources and assisted by an external HR and Employment Law support service, this role will provide advice, guidance and support to all line managers in HR related matters whilst building and nurturing relationships with key stakeholders throughout all levels of the organisation.  This will include support to ensure the efficient and effective management, monitoring and reporting of people metrics, from recruitment, development, retention through to attrition and at all stages of the employee life cycle.

The role will also provide crucial executive support to the CEO and SLT of three Directors, to ensure the smooth operation of their responsibilities and co-ordinating efforts of various parties to ensure completion of key tasks and actions.

As part of an expanding and ambitious organisation, there are considerable development opportunities for the successful candidate and the ability to help shape the infrastructure of the charity.

About you:

You will have at least 3 years’ experience of delivering HR support directly and facilitating line managers to deliver HR support.  You will have a demonstrable understanding of employment law and the practical application of this, with experience of implementing HR administration and operational best practice for example, in the areas of recruitment, capability and performance management. You will help lead in creating an atmosphere of trust and an enabling environment where staff can contribute their best and develop their potential, which is critical for Day One as a young organisation.

You will have significant experience of providing proactive and responsive administrative assistance to senior staff and demonstrable experience of developing and managing effective administrative systems.  Additionally, the ability to build and maintain trusted relationships through professional engagement and communication skills, both written and spoken, that are effective, empathetic and adaptable to different situations are key to this role.

You will be highly organised and responsive to others in a way that is both timely and professional with well-developed time management skills to manage competing priorities, ensure follow up of actions and meet deadlines whilst working under pressure. A high level of accuracy and attention to detail is critical to this role, whilst maintaining strict confidentiality.

You will be managing an established income stream that raises important core and project funding for Willen Hospice. In this integral fundraising role, you will have the opportunity to transform our services by working closely with service teams to get unrestricted and restricted grants from Trusts and Foundations. 

With strong communication & relationship-building skills you will report to the Associate Director of Income Generation, working across clinical and support departments and with external partners to write high-calibre, persuasive applications and reports.

About the role

This role is responsible for managing and developing the charity’s portfolio of Trusts and Foundations, securing significant gifts and growing the long-term potential of this portfolio (target for 2024 is £378,000). There are no direct reports, however the successful candidate will be expected to work closely with Senior Management Teams, other departments and stakeholders to build and develop cases for support to help fund our much-needed work.

The ideal candidate for this role will have experience and a proven track record of successful income generation and delivering against targets.

Key responsibilities
Research and process management

Fundraising

Reporting
• Compile comprehensive and compelling progress reports to feed back to grant makers in a timely fashion and incentivise continued support

• Draw down on any multi-year grants as outlined in our annual budget

The Kidney Care UK Helpline is a new national service to support people online, on the phone and by email at the point they need support.

Purpose of This Role:

This is a pivotal role to support NASP’s strategic aims to promote and spread social prescribing at a local, national, and international level.

Responsibilities:

Finance

• Act as first point of contact for Finance enquiries, both internally and externally
• Manage the Finance mailbox, ensuring queries are dealt with efficiently
• Co-ordinate day-to-day financial operations, including processing of invoices, purchase orders, expense claims, reconciliations, etc.
• Overseeing virtual card system (Soldo) for NASP employees
• Supporting CEO, Director of Operations (DoO) and Director of Finance (DoF) on budgeting, forecasting, reconciliations, and year end process as required
• Working with external Finance provider (Carpenter Box) to support processes
• Attending regular finance catchups, supporting these meetings and providing feedback on issues & processes
• Provide support to colleagues on NASP’s financial systems (ApprovalMax, Xero, Soldo, etc.), including developing and running training sessions as required
• Ensuring online and paper filing of NASP finance documentation is accurate, organised, and kept up to date

People, HR & Recruitment

• Support on recruitment, including developing job documentation, posting job adverts, liaising with candidates and managing enquiries, scheduling and supporting interviews
• Work closely with the Executive Assistant for onboarding and induction of new starters, including arranging for IT equipment to be shipped
• Proactively identify ways to improve and streamline People & Culture processes
• Drafting and issuing contracts for freelancers, using NASP standard templates
• Support on People-related working groups, e.g. EDIB and Wellbeing

Programme Support

• Provide administrative support for colleagues on specific projects/programmes as required, including NASP’s Innovation programme (e.g. sending network updates, developing case studies for Innovation Hub, uploading data to NASP’s CRM system)
• Manage and minute meetings, including sending agendas, noting actions, and diary management
• Providing input and support on related areas of expertise (Finance, HR, Operations) to colleagues across the organisation, e.g. developing budgets or advising on organizational policies
• Monitoring and evaluation of programmes, to improve effectiveness (including financial evaluation)

Other Responsibilities

• Work with Operations team on improving and developing processes across the organisation, e.g. Wellbeing, EDIB, staff days, events
• Deputise for Operations team colleagues as needed to cover annual leave (e.g. supporting on meetings or managing correspondence)
• Work with external IT provider (Logicata) to support staff with helpdesk enquiries, and delivery/return of equipment as needed

Ideal Candidate: 

We are looking for an experienced, dynamic and driven Senior Corporate Partnerships Executive to join our team in this integral and newly created role. The role will lead on identifying and securing collaboration and funding opportunities with both existing and prospective partners, and developing and managing a pipeline of strategic corporate partners that align with PCR’s mission and core programmes of work. We are looking for someone with demonstrable experience of developing and nurturing relationships with corporate partners, understanding complex issues and working with others to identify solutions, and producing compelling funding proposals in support of this work.

Key responsibilities:

· Identify and nurture relationships with prospective corporate partners aligned with the mission and values of PCR.

· Develop and implement comprehensive partnership strategies to engage existing and prospective corporate partners.

· Work closely with PCR's delivery departments and other income streams to identify, develop and maximise income generation opportunities.

· Collaborate with internal stakeholders to create compelling funding proposals and presentations tailored to the needs and objectives of corporate partners.

· Lead negotiations and secure funding support from corporate partners for activities aligned with PCR’s programmes of work.

· Effectively manage project monitoring and reporting for PCR’s existing funded activities with corporate partners, including regular communication, reporting, and public recognition of contributions (as appropriate), working closely with PCR’s delivery and communications teams.

· Stay informed of industry trends, corporate philanthropy initiatives, and relevant developments to inform partnership strategies and opportunities.

· Represent PCR at external events, conferences, and meetings to promote partnership opportunities and expand our network within the corporate sector.

· Database management to record pipeline and enable strategic planning against established KPIs and income targets.

· Support Director of Partnerships to monitor and report income performance to PCR’s Board of Trustees.

Skills and experience:

· Experience of identifying and securing at least five-figure income from prospective corporate partners, supported by detailed partnership plans.

· Experience of developing and managing at least five-figure partnerships with pharmaceutical and healthcare related companies is desirable.

· Experience of creating and organising supporter engagement events is desirable.

· Excellent and persuasive communication and interpersonal skills with proven ability to build and manage strong relationships with corporate partners.

· Demonstrated ability to think strategically, develop creative solutions, and deliver upon corporate partnership objectives.

· Experience of preparing compelling and persuasive funding proposals, presentations and reports.

· Excellent project management skills, with the ability to prioritise tasks, meet deadlines, and manage multiple projects simultaneously.

· Ability to work flexibly according to the demands of the role, including the potential for UK and international travel and attendance at events and conferences.

The Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation (JDRF) is a global organisation dedicated to funding research to find a cure for type 1 diabetes (T1D) and its complications. JDRF works towards its mission by funding research projects aimed at improving treatments, developing technologies to better manage T1D, and ultimately finding a cure. The charity also provides support and resources to individuals and families affected by T1D, as well as advocating for policies and funding that advance diabetes research and improve access to care.

The Corporate Partnerships Manager role sits within the Fundraising and Engagement Department. JDRF receives no government funding, so all of their income is generated by the activities of this department.

The high-performing team work across the UK to deliver on challenging fundraising targets, collaborating across the organisation to generate income to find a cure and support the type 1 community.

The role supports on the development, including the research and approach of new high value corporate partnerships (£50k to £500k+), that will benefit the work of JDRF financially and/or strategically.
