Experience is not essential as we will provide you with support and training to become a confident Senior Support Worker. Hft is a charity that supports adults with learning disabilities. Here at Bidford On Avon we support eleven individuals split between our two residential services, between them they enjoy doing various activities such as meals out, going to Cadbury’s world, watching trains and feeding ducks. Here at Orchard View we aim to support each individual to live their best life possible and support them with their daily living.

What will you be doing?

Giving the highest possible standards of support to individuals with moderate to severe learning disabilities.

Supporting them to discover new interests, reaching goals like travelling and holidays and working positively with their families and friends.

Helping individuals to engage in different leisure, home or work-related activities, all according to their personal choice.

As a Senior Support Worker (Care Assistant), your responsibilities are varied and no two days are the same.

As well as providing physical and emotional support you may be needed to help with household tasks and personal care as well as supporting individuals with healthcare needs, e.g. taking medication.

Everything you do will enable people to have choices about their own lives, providing flexible services that meet people’s needs, and always looking for the best way of doing things.

The Hepatitis C Trust has developed projects nationally whereby peers use their lived experience of injecting drug use and hepatitis C, to provide education and training to increase awareness of hepatitis C, reduce stigma, and promote access to testing and treatment for people living with hepatitis C.  

Do you have experience of working in drug services and with volunteers? Have you been affected by hepatitis C or have you supported anyone who has hepatitis C?

We are looking for passionate and skilled peer leads who have excellent communication and organisational skills. We require a good standard of education and welcome creativity and innovation in all our work.  

Working as part of a growing team providing services to people living with hepatitis C, this post will expand delivery of the Hepatitis C peer project, recruiting and supporting volunteer peers across Birmingham and immediate surrounding areas to raise awareness, promote harm reduction approaches, and proactively increase HCV (Hepatitis C Virus) testing, treatment, and care for marginalised communities.

Hours: Part-time, 24 hours per week

Salary: Circa £17,546 per annum (FTE circa £25,500 per annum)

The Role

Reporting to the Stroke Association Service Delivery Coach, the coordinator will work with the local Health and Social Care services to receive referrals and support stroke survivors and their carers. As a coordinator you will provide personalised information, advice and support with regular reviews throughout.

Key responsibilities will include:

· Working with the local Health and Social services to receive referrals to support stroke survivors and their carers

The Hepatitis C Trust has developed projects nationally whereby peers use their lived experience of injecting drug use and hepatitis C, to provide education and training to increase awareness of hepatitis C, reduce stigma, and promote access to testing and treatment for people living with hepatitis C across Bristol & Weston areas. 

Do you have experience of working in drug services and with volunteers? Have you been affected by hepatitis C or have you supported anyone who has hepatitis C? We are looking for a passionate and skilled peer lead who has excellent communication and organisational skills. We require a good standard of education and welcome creativity and innovation in all our work.  

Working as part of a growing team, this post will continue the development and delivery of the Hepatitis C peer project, recruiting and supporting volunteer peers across Bristol and surrounding areas. Working in partnership with hepatitis C clinical teams, drug and alcohol services and homeless service providers, the post will coordinate delivery of educational workshops, promote and facilitate increased testing for HCV, targeting marginalised and disadvantaged communities and ensuring referral and ongoing support through treatment and harm reduction approaches to prevent reinfection and other harms among PWID.

You will work between police custody and criminal courts. You will assess, advise and refer offenders, providing them with the opportunity to access treatment to address their substance use. Working with courts, you will promote the use of Community Sentence Treatment Requirements (Drug Rehabilitations Requirements and Alcohol Treatment Requirements) amongst all court professionals and the judiciary, contributing to Pre-Sentence Reports and advocate for our service users.

You will be responsible for delivering all elements of substance use work, including assertive engagement, harm reduction support (including naloxone provision), as well as other associated duties. You need to have an understanding of the issues faced by people who use drugs and alcohol, and who commit crime, and be dedicated to delivering a service that supports these individuals to make positive changes to their behaviour, health and well-being.

About the role

The Role 
 
As our Supporter Engagement Assistant, you will join our Fundraising Team to help us build strong and lasting relationships with our charity's supporters and donors.  

Reporting to the Supporter Engagement Officer, you will deliver excellent customer service over the telephone, in written (email and postal) communications and face to face and ensure that supporters' details are accurately recorded on the CRM database. You will be representing the charity, explaining its purpose, and demonstrating our charity values to donors/supporters, showing appropriate empathy to those who may have cancer or a family member/friend who does.  

This role provides a great opportunity to make a real difference to the people of Yorkshire and requires someone with a friendly manner, good team-working skills, great customer service and excellent organisational skills.  
 

Specifically, you will: 

• Ensure supporter communications are accurate, timely and appropriate to the recipient. This includes following the relevant pathways to process donations, record legacy pledges, update key information so that the communication is tailored and relevant to the individual supporter. 

• Update supporter records on our database to reflect changes in marketing permissions, personal details, the charity's relationship with the supporter (e.g. Volunteer/ Donor/ Brand Ambassador etc.) and any communications had between the supporter & the charity. 

• Use the CRM System to run supplied data queries to deliver campaigns (e.g. using Mail Merge) and to create and deliver supporter communications, this includes printing and posting letters and sending emails, making updates to supporter records and fulfilling requests for information. 

• Work alongside the Supporter Engagement Officer & Individual Giving Manager to improve the initial welcome for newly acquired regular donors and the onwards stewardship journey for all supporters. Conducting research and contributing ideas to improve the supporter journeys and implementing these processes independently. 

• Undertake other duties and take on a lead role in supporting projects relevant to the purpose of the role as requested by members of the CRM, Marketing, Fundraising or Research & Services teams. 

• Monitor inbound emails to the charity in the supporter care inbox, forwarding to the relevant colleague (if unable to provide a response) or responding and actioning.

About You 

To be considered for this role, you will need: 

• To have a qualification in a relevant discipline and/or proven experience working in a similar role, such as customer service. 

• To have evidence of continued professional development relevant to the role purpose and level. 

• To have customer service experience in a similar or related role (e.g. telephony/ databases/ office). 

• To have high computer literacy with comprehensive knowledge of Microsoft Office applications, especially Word, Excel and Outlook. 

• To have previous experience of working with databases (e.g. Access or Raiser's Edge).

• To be happy to work independently and ask for support where this is needed, but also like to both work with and support colleagues as part of a team working towards a common goal. 

• To have excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with an ability to use active listening skills, and write professionally and appropriately for a range of diverse audiences. Has a good grasp of grammar, spelling and of the spoken word. 

• To have strong organisational skills and performs their work to an extremely high level of accuracy and professionalism, paying close attention to detail.
