Bladder Health UK (BHUK) is a small national charity that has developed significantly over the last 10 years. We are now looking for a part-time charity manager who can continue this journey. The role gives a rare opportunity to someone who is enthusiastic to make a difference in this unique space and have a significant impact on both sufferers and healthcare professionals. As charity manager you will need a varied skillset including being able to build and nurture relationships, manage a small team of staff, develop new income streams, create, and develop imaginative projects and use innovative technology to boost the aims and objectives of the charity.

What you would do

Account management of existing and new relationships in the charity sector. • Research and write grant applications. • Support in making decisions and advise on the charity spend. • Work with the BHUK team to tell the story of ‘Bladder Health UK’ via its communication channels. • Support hosting and organising charity events. • Manage the general cashflow for the charity including reporting from a finance perspective. • Work on a multitude of projects throughout the year. • Outreach to relevant charities that the charity wants to work with and build long lasting, meaningful relationships with them. •. • Maintain all contracts, mailing lists, ensuring IT systems are kept up to date, and are compliant. • Manage ongoing governance of the charity, including developing and maintaining policy documents such as our grant making policy, conflict of interest processes, procedures and register, risk management policy and register. • Maintain charity commission register records. You will also be expected to be able to provide and present regular reports to the Trustees on the finance and operational activity of the charity.

To succeed in this post, it is essential that you have:

• Have been involved in charity campaign work previously.
• Have experience in charity operations and governance. 
• Have sales /marketing/fundraising experience.
• Be able to multi-task in a busy environment.
• Can demonstrate effective communication skills with ability to liaise with different audiences and be effective at developing long-lasting relationships.
• Evidence that you are highly organised and great with time management.
• Have experience developing social media, websites, and webinars to promote, inform and educate.

It would be desirable that you:

• Have either a clinical background or experience in urology issues.

The role

Our services are growing. We are looking for locally based sessional facilitators to support the delivery of our Moving Forward courses across the UK. Our Moving Forward courses are for anyone with a primary breast cancer diagnosis who has finished their hospital-based treatment. Courses are a combination of face to face and online support and are delivered in partnership with local NHS Trusts/Boards. The number of courses can vary across locations but will typically be between 2 - 4 courses a year. 

This is offered as a contract for services position and as such the appointed contractor would not be an employee of Breast Cancer Now but a self-employed individual. We require all contractors to adhere to and follow Breast Cancer Now applicable policies and procedures and to undertake some mandatory training in core subjects such as data protection and cyber security. A satisfactory criminal record check will be required.

 About you

You will be based locally to one of the available locations with a strong background in group facilitation and course delivery. You will also have excellent organisation and time-management skills, superb oral and written communication skills, and the ability to multitask. You will work independently across a geographical area, supported by the regional services team and our local volunteers.

You will be required to have access to your own IT equipment.

We are looking for seven new members to join our Professional Conduct Committee and Health Committee: the positions are for three osteopaths and four non-osteopaths (lay positions). This is an opportunity to become part of a fair decision-making process for a modern, inclusive and innovative healthcare regulator.

The Professional Conduct Committee hears and adjudicates concerns raised against osteopaths which have been referred to it by the Investigating Committee. These relate to professional misconduct, incompetence or where an osteopath is convicted of a criminal offence. Professional Conduct Committee members also sit on the Health Committee, which considers cases where an osteopath’s health may impair their ability to practise.

You will be expected to commit no more than 20 days a year (often a few days at a time) depending on caseload, plus some extra time, for example for mandatory training, reading and appraisals. The daily attendance fee is £330 (with a further payment of £50 per day for lay members when they are sitting as a Panel Chair). We pay reasonable travel and subsistence expenses. Appointment starts on 1 April 2025 (initially for up to four years).

This role will deliver Kidney Care UK’s Patient Support and Advocacy service in the region. This varied role deals with every aspect of a patient’s life that supports better outcomes: welfare benefits, practical, emotional and social support. As well as directly supporting patients, you will raise awareness of the wide range of local and national resources available to kidney patients, and build strong relationships with kidney patients, professionals, and other stakeholder groups in the region.

Wellbeing Consultant Guildford (GenesisCare)

Salary: £28,080, – £33,280 dependent upon experience plus regional pay enhancement

This role requires excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to build and maintain relationships with patients, relatives, GenesisCare staff team and Wellbeing consultant team and the wider Penny Brohn UK organization. We are looking for a professional who can work in a flexible, intelligent, and creative way.  Candidates should have experience of working within private or national health related services and have knowledge, experience/understanding of complementary therapies or other support services.

Key role considerations

• This role will involve working alongside our partner GenesisCare to ensure a holistic approach is taken in aspects of support and treatment.
• The bulk of the patient work is delivery of one-to-one sessions, completing holistic needs assessments, review appointments, consultations, mindfulness, and relaxation sessions.
• Managing a therapist team.
• The Wellbeing Consultant is responsible for ensuring that patients and their relatives have a positive experience as they move through the Penny Brohn UK treatment support services at GenesisCare.

The successful partnership with GenesisCare is entering its tenth year and the treatment support service that we offer to cancer patients has shown to be both statistically and clinically significant. Penny Brohn UK have been working in partnership with GenesisCare UK, a private healthcare company, since 2013. The role

The Receptionist will report to the duty manager(s) with a dotted line reporting to the assistant director of innovation.

The role will require managing the front desk and will include greeting visitors, answering the phones, handling financial transactions, members’ accounts, day-to-day bookings, prospective members’ inquiries and providing general administration support to provide a smooth running of the reception area. This is an exciting opportunity for someone who enjoys interacting with people and has strong organisational skills.

RFC Recreation Club:  The aim of The Rec Club

• The Rec Club is responsible for providing a safe and welcoming environment for our club users, alongwith facilitating schools, groups,  clubs, and  Royal Free outpatients/ rehabilitation discharged patients, for their health and fitness sessions in one of the many areas of the club.
•  The club has 2 studios, a swimming pool, a sports hall, and a gym, all of which are used daily by our members and the local community with a footfall of around 1000 people per day.

Receptionist Job Purpose and Key Responsibilities

• Greet and welcome visitors in a professional and courteous manner.
• Answer phone calls
•  Schedule bookings for prospective and existing clients
• Oversee the club's booking system including updating and maintaining member records, taking payments for membership & usage of the club’s facilities, processing and issuing new membership applications and collecting insurance information.
• Maintain a tidy and presentable reception area.
• Receive and distribute incoming mail and deliveries.
• Provide general administrative support, including photocopying and filing.
• Assist with scheduling appointments and coordinating meetings for the club manager.

Qualifications, Experience, Skills & Knowledge

Qualifications

• CSE/GCSE in Maths and English or equivalent
• First aid/defibrillator qualified (desirable)

Experience

• A minimum of 1-year’s previous experience in working in the fitness/hospitality/ front of house industry as a receptionist or in a similar role
• Previous experience working with the public.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook)
• Previous experience of working in a multicultural environment
• Desirable to have database system user experience and/or sales and marketing experience.
