The Opportunity:
We are seeking an Accounts Officer to support our Finance Director in managing the financial operations within the UK office. This pivotal role contributes to our mission by ensuring financial accuracy, adhering to compliance standards, and facilitating effective financial administration.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in daily financial operations, including processing transactions, managing payroll, and handling expenses for staff and volunteers.
- Support the month-end financial closing process, ensuring timely and accurate reporting.
- Help in preparing and filing VAT returns and managing compliance with HMRC regulations.
- Serve as a contact point for UK banking operations, helping to maintain robust banking relationships and mandates.
- Contribute to the maintenance of financial controls and suggest improvements to enhance efficiency.
- Assist in providing financial training and support to BIF staff, promoting understanding of financial policies.
- Collaborate with the finance team to ensure alignment of financial procedures and support the Finance Director in strategic financial planning.
Competencies and Qualifications:
- Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
- Experience in financial operations, preferably within a charity or NGO setting.
- Preferably progressing towards/has recognised accountancy qualification (ACCA/CIMA/ICAEW)
- Understanding of UK financial regulations and tax laws, with specific knowledge of VAT and GiftAid advantageous.
- Strong organisational skills with attention to detail.
- Effective communication skills, capable of working collaboratively with both finance and non-finance colleagues.

Purpose of Role
Smile Train seeks a collaborative, innovative, and entrepreneurial professional for the role of Director of Fundraising, Smile Train UK. Primary responsibilities

- Maintains a portfolio of major donors and prospects by creating and implementing strategies for the cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship of donors with the capacity to make 5- and 6-figure annual gifts and 6- and 7-figure leadership gifts.

Experience
- Minimum seven years' experience in senior level fundraising, ideally in a leadership role with oversight over end-to-end execution.

- Proven track record in leading fundraising and delivering income growth within a similar sized organization.

Bladder Health UK (BHUK) is a small national charity that has developed significantly over the last 10 years. We are now looking for a part-time charity manager who can continue this journey. What you would do

Your experience should encompass effectively managing services, involving service users in their development, and establishing partnerships while negotiating contract terms. You should be skilled of using project management skills to maintain transparency and accountability of work projects. Proficiency in budget management across various portfolios to ensure adherence to financial allocations is essential. Additionally, you should demonstrate a commitment to inclusivity and sensitivity to the diverse needs of stakeholders. Your skill set should include the ability to foster relationships conducive to transitioning contracts to new work providers and ensuring stakeholder engagement throughout the delivery process. You should have experience of building internal relationships with corporate services to facilitate the best outcomes for staff, volunteers, and service users. UK-Med is a humanitarian NGO that has been responding to disasters for over thirty years. We prepare and equip medical teams, both in the UK and worldwide, so they are ready to respond when epidemics, conflict and natural disasters hit. When Ebola struck West Africa in 2014 we recruited and trained UK doctors and nurses who helped local medical teams and other NGOs to bring the outbreak under control. We are core partners, providing the clinical component and key support structures of the UK Emergency Medical Team (UK EMT) in line with WHO standards.
We are recruiting a Head of Security to ensure effective safety and security arrangements are in place for the UK EMT. Our new Head of Security will lead on strategic and operational management of safety and security for the UK EMT. You will design, draft and disseminate overarching safety and security plans and crisis management plans and attendant structures, and will advise Team Leaders in the field including deploying with large responses as required. It is a standalone role and you will be responsible for all areas of security management.
Our ideal candidate will bring significant security expertise developed through significant experience working in the humanitarian sector (expected to be at least 5 years) including in insecure environments, and who is willing to spend up to 40% of their time on deployment as part of our responses.

What are we looking for?

About the role

The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in major gifts fundraising and a proven track record of securing large gifts. They will also have experience of managing a large annual income target and driving continued growth and ensuring targets are met. They will have the ability to lead, motivate and inspire multiple teams to coordinate projects and exceed fundraising targets. Strong presentation skills and budgetary skills will be combined with the ability to build positive and high-value relationships across a range of sectors, individuals, organisations and committees.
