Role Summary
This role will support the expanding Fundraising & Engagement team with all fundraising activities to ensure that good relationships are maintained with all Alcohol Change UK (ACUK) supporters. The Fundraising and Engagement Assistant will undertake the financial administration and recording of all fundraising income as well as being the first point of contact for the team ensuring ACUK delivers high levels of supporter care.

Key Tasks and Responsibilities
Fundraising
-
Coordinating ACUK’s CRM system (ThankQ) and ensuring data accuracy including:
- New donor details, communications with supporters, gift aid and consent purposes
- Championing data cleansing and monthly de-duping of contacts

Coordinating all general fundraising enquiries including phone calls, fundraising & engagement email inboxes (providing holiday cover for the training & consultancy inbox) and post.

Coordinating lead generation from third party challenge event companies and converting leads into participants

Coordinating fundraising resources and merchandise including;
- Sending out materials to supporters
- Compiling fulfilment reports from online shop and sending over to fulfilment agency
- Monitoring stock levels of fundraising materials and shop merchandise

Maintaining up to date filing systems

Supporting with research for Trusts & Foundation applications

Processing all physical (cash and cheques) and online donations received in accordance with ACUK’s cash handling procedures, including;
- Counting and processing cheques/cash
- Logging all donations on a central post sheet
- Processing and reporting on all donations received through the ACUK website and all third-party platforms
- Ensuring all donors are thanked in a timely manner in line with their communication preferences
- Importing all donation data to ThankQ
Engagement programme

Act as the first point of contact for enquiries from our volunteers (Community Champions) and, alongside the Fundraising & Engagement Manager, steward our volunteers including the coordination of volunteer activities.

Identify opportunities for supporters of different types to discover new ways to engage with them (for example helping donors become campaigners or encouraging cultural change activists to become community fundraisers, etc).
Cross-organisational Role

Work closely with colleagues across the charity to support their work and to act as ‘one team’.

About you
Ideally you will already have experience in an administration or customer service role and looking to start a career in fundraising. You will be looking for 20-37.5 hours a week and can work flexibly including some evenings and weekends to support at fundraising events.
Main duties of the job
- Provide support to the department on a range of administrative tasks including, dealing with enquiries (postal, telephone, email, face to face), opening and sorting post.
- Work to build excellent relationships with donors to provide a high standard of customer care.
- Process one-off and regular donations ensuring procedures are followed and information is recorded correctly onto the database and thank you letters are sent.
- Work with cancer centre volunteers to support the team with administration tasks.
- To undertake specific fundraising projects and attend events as necessary or as required to support the department’s fundraising.
- To assist the fundraisers with administration of staff lottery, raffles and prize led promotion and fundraising as required.
- Support all fundraising activity and represent the charity at internal and external events.
- Manage ‘Gift in Kind’ donations and our ‘Gift in Kind’ Campaigns.

Job Purpose:
This is an exciting opportunity to be at the heart of the Charity operations. This role is the first point of contact for supporters and requires outstanding customer care/ donor stewardship skills. Main Duties/Tasks
Fundraising & Office duties
Undertake day to day administrative tasks as directed by the Fundraising & People Team Leader and Senior Team, including the preparation of letters, reports and memos, ensuring the work is of a high standard, professional and accurate. Deal with all incoming telephone enquiries in a professional and helpful capacity and direct all incoming calls correctly and take accurate messages. Adhere to any confidential or sensitive information protocols.
Contribute to the efficient running of the public Charity office by receiving all donors and visitors in a welcoming and friendly manner.
Provide excellent customer care/ donor stewardship in all interactions with donors.
Manage the mail, ensuring it is opened, distributed and any donor correspondence is responded to in a timely manner.
Process donations in line with established receipting procedures.
Adhere to audit procedures and liaise with the Charity’s auditors.
Carrying out filing in line with office procedures and ensuring the safe storage and archiving of documents/records on a regular basis.
Provide support to the senior management team, including organising and scheduling meetings and room bookings.
Undertake banking procedures and ensure donations are accurately recorded and banked.
Hospital & Online Shop
Process online orders for the shop in a timely manner.
Run regular reports for the Fundraising & People Team Leader relating to online sales.
Support the management of the online and hospital shop, ensuring they are stocked, and products are displayed in the best way.
Provide good customer service within the shop inside the hospital Atrium.
Cash up the till, ensuring sales are correctly recorded and takings are passed through for banking.
Database support
Process donations on the CRM database, liaising with fundraising teams to ensure this is recorded correctly, including from online platforms.
Produce analytical reports from the fundraising database system, for audit purposes.
HR support
Provide HR administrative support within the areas of:
· Recruitment, including coordinating the recruitment process and the induction of new starters;
· Ensuring all staff have a DBS in line with the Trust requirements;
· Administration of staff annual leave allowance and absence reporting;
· Creating staff correspondence letters, including pay award, furlough or other required communication; and
· Attending and minuting HR meetings where required.
Other Duties
Be an outstanding advocate for Alder Hey Children’s Charity in line with the core values of the organisation.
Be an active and supportive member of the Alder Hey Children’s Charity team, contributing to the team’s development and working collaboratively with colleagues and volunteers. Attend and support on events run by the fundraising teams where required.

The Role
As a Heartlands Fundraising Officer you will primarily be based at Heartlands Hospital in Birmingham, with occasional travel to other hospital sites and off site to attend meetings and events.
You will be key in helping to build new relationships with the public and hospital staff within Heartlands Hospital, as well as with existing supporters.
The role includes proactively going out to meet people to provide information about the work of the Charity and inspiring people to fundraise. It also involves spending time in the Charity Hub to speak to hospital staff, patients and members of the public and tell them more about our work.
- Proactively helping to drive and increase income from businesses, business network groups, community groups and individuals to advance the Charity's fundraising ambitions both individually and as part of a wider fundraising team
- Providing excellent stewardship to key supporters and volunteers and build strong relationships with potential new supporters
- Working alongside the Stewardship Team, ensuring accurate data inputting of donations, fundraising, Gift Aid claims and correspondence both written and verbal with supporters
- Building excellent relationships with key clinical colleagues to ensure the different wards and departments are working effectively with the charity
- Collecting donations from across the hospital and meeting donors and fundraisers who come to the hospital
- Working in our Charity Hub, working as part of a team to ensure that it is staffed during opening hours

This role is a fantastic opportunity for someone wanting to move into a career in the charity and fundraising sector. You will become an integral part of the Fundraising Team at Meningitis Now, as we look to grow our programme of events and continue to proactively seek opportunities in communities throughout the UK.
You will support the fundraising team in the development and delivery of our community fundraising programme, by seeking successful fundraising opportunities through supporters, schools, universities, and associations throughout the UK. Supporting the development of the events programme, in recruitment of participants through a variety of effective marketing communications and excellent stewardship, ensuring they maximise their fundraising potential. You will also be required to manage the day-to-day logistics of events which may include working with external suppliers or Meningitis Now volunteers.
You will have the opportunity to lead on at least one event which may include any of the following events in our current programme: London Marathon, Five Valleys Walk, Great North Run, London Landmarks Half Marathon along with a trekking challenge.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
- To work as part of a team to deliver the annual fundraising plan and income target.
- Lead on the delivery of at least one Meningitis Now fundraising event.
- Deliver excellent supporter care including supporter recruitment, development, and stewardship.
- Create and implement successful marketing plans for the events portfolio using a range of communication channels to drive enquiry numbers and conversions to ensure that all events are filled to an agreed participant target number.
- Work with the communications and marketing team to provide content for social media campaigns with the aim of recruiting participants.
- Develop fundraising opportunities across a broad range of target markets including community organisations, schools, and universities.
- Recruit and motivate supporters, encouraging innovative fundraising ideas to help achieve targets.
- Develop positive relationships with all supporters with the aim of achieving long-term and sustainable support, through written communications, telephone conversations, face to face meetings, and attendance at events.
- Use the database as an effective fundraising tool, maintaining individual records, making data selections to agreed briefs and analysing performance.
- Manage suppliers including event companies and marketing agencies, ensuring high standards of delivery and cost control are always maintained.
- Be an active member of the Fundraising and Communications team, attending and supporting fundraising events as and when required.
- Keep accurate records and the database (Salesforce) up to date with all supporter communications.
- Ensure that all data protection requirements are upheld.
- Champion the Fundraising Regulator’s Codes of Practice.
What we're looking for:
The successful candidate will have excellent relationship management skills, with the ability to create and implement successful marketing plans using a range of communication channels. You will have the ability to motivate and inspire others and have high levels of project and event management, with the ability to communicate with confidence and fluency. You will feel at ease speaking over the phone, email and in person with a broad range of people; for example, families affected by meningitis.
Skills and Experience:
- Professional fundraising, marketing or sales experience preferably within a charity.
- Event and/or project management.

The Role
As a QEHB Fundraising Officer you will primarily be based at Queen Elizabeth Hospital Birmingham, with occasional travel to other hospital sites and off site to attend meetings and events.
You will be key in helping to build new relationships with the public and hospital staff within Queen Elizabeth Hospital, as well as with existing supporters.
