We work across four continents, supported by staff operating out of offices in London and New York and are executing an ambitious five-year plan (2020-2025) to further our vision. This role provides critical support for the Foundation's grant-making activities.
The Grant Finance Manager is responsible for the financial aspects of EJAF’s grantmaking activities. From monitoring grantees’ budgets to reviewing disbursement requests, from pre-grant due diligence to grant close-out and audit, this role covers the full grant life cycle. The Grant Finance Manager is key to delivering grantmaking that is effective, efficient, risk-managed and compliant. As part of a small, professional Finance Team, the role reports directly to the Head of Finance and works closely with Grants Portfolio Leads (GPLs). The ideal candidate has relevant experience in managing the financial aspects of grantmaking and is a smart, enthusiastic team-player with good accounting skills and attention to detail.

At Bluebell Wood Children’s Hospice we care for children and young people whose lives are just too short. Our aim is to reach every family that needs our help and to offer them the very best choice of care. Did you know that every year we need to raise £5m to keep our doors open and only around 20 percent of our income comes from government sources? The rest has to be raised through fundraising activity.
Our services include short overnight stays and community breaks at home or in the hospice. We also support the whole family from diagnosis with our multi-disciplinary Family Support team who provide counselling, sibling support groups, music therapy and much more. Our care team supports these families in our modern, purpose built building. All our rooms/bedrooms have a homely feel. We have a sensory room, spa pool, cinema room and six acres of gardens.
We support families from a large geographical area, including South Yorkshire, North Nottinghamshire, North Derbyshire and parts of North Lincolnshire. The hospice is easily accessible from Barnsley, Rotherham, Doncaster, Sheffield and North Notts. We have free secure on-site parking for families and staff to use.
The role
As part of re designing our services, we are currently seeking three children’s nurses with post registration experience, to join our In House Care Team. You will be working as part of a supportive team consisting of Team Leads, Nurses and care support workers and allied health professionals. Working as part of a team you will provide a high standard of holistic care and be able to balance opportunities for children to experience play, social interaction and learning alongside managing the diverse nursing needs of the children staying with us.
We are looking for resilient, enthusiastic individuals who want to deliver high quality, evidence based paediatric palliative care.
From 1st April 2022 all direct care provision and/or close contact roles at Bluebell Wood Children's Hospice require full COVID vaccination as a Condition of Deployment. The role of Nurse falls into this category.

Summary
This is an exciting time to join Diabetes UK as we have an increased focus on securing value for money in our contracts with key suppliers. The role:
In your role as Regional Fundraising Manager, you will lead and develop a team of 7 to raise invaluable funds and brand awareness of the hospice. Working with the Income Generation and Communications Director you will work towards a devised strategy for fundraising across key income streams including Events, Corporate and Community. You will plan an annual fundraising calendar of activity and campaigns and work to agreed KPIs and objectives to build a resilient and robust income plan, managing and supporting your team to achieve these objectives. Taking the lead for corporate engagement you will both develop new relationships and nurture existing supporters.
As part of your role as a manager you will be a strong advocate in teaching and demonstrating Bluebell Wood’s culture to your staff and those around you, embedding the vision of the hospice in everyone who works with us. Purpose of the Job
To strategically lead and manage our existing CYP services that range from being both clinical and non clinical (Mental Health Support Teams in Schools, Circle crisis prevention café for children and young people, Whole School Approach, Be Kind to Your Mind). To develop and grow a portfolio of children and young people’s mental health services.

Growth and Development

Job description
King’s Global Health Partnerships (KGHP) aims to improve health outcomes in five African countries– Sierra Leone, Somaliland, Zambia, DR Congo and Gambia – working with local partners and drawing on the skills of volunteers from the NHS and King’s College London. This is a fantastic opportunity to lead the development and management of finance systems for an innovative and impactful health systems strengthening programme.
This role will be based within Kings Finance Team and will oversee financial management of KGHP’s restricted and unrestricted funds, leading on financial planning, budgeting and donor compliance across our programmes. You will support Partnerships staff, providing hands-on support as necessary to ensure that internal controls and financial management processes are in place, in order to meet financial, contractual, statutory and legal responsibilities.
The appointee will lead on the development of KGHP’s financial systems and reporting in line with developments from KCL's finance team. You will be able to deliver change in processes by building effective relationships with the Finance team and KGHP staff in London and in Africa, as well as building relationships with teams across King’s College London, ensuring coherence and consistency of approach and compliance with financial policies and processes.
This post will be offered on an a fixed term contract until 31st July 2025.

Key responsibilities
Financial management, compliance and control
- Manage flows of funding to in-country programmes and partners, including forecast-based transfers and reconciliation
- Support the management of in-country finance staff
- Ensure project-specific financial record keeping; review partner financial reports, proactively raising issues with the project budget holder
- Oversee all international grants and contracts and ensure the timely submission of accurate financial grant reporting, including analysis of exchange rate gains and losses
- Lead and manage external audits, ensuring that recommendations arising from external audits are effectively addressed
- Support capacity building programmes workshops for local partners in Africa, enabling them to effectively implement and monitor statutory and institutional grants
- Work with wider finance teams to ensure income and expenditure is aligned to KCL's wider aims and ambitions
Budget development and oversight
- Work closely with programmes teams to develop proposal and programme budgets which ensure cost recovery and sustainable growth, ensuring appropriate rigour and accuracy. Ensure that match funding requirements for grants are strictly monitored
- Work closely with budget holders to ensure they have good working knowledge of their budgets, conducting regular meetings to understand and explain variances
- Maintain full oversight of KGHP’s finances, ensuring that unrestricted and restricted income and expenditure remains in line with approved budgets
- Provide monthly and quarterly reports and analysis to the KGHP Head of Programs and Senior Management Team to keep them informed of KGHP’s financial position and areas of risk

Financial processes and systems development
- Improve and maintain systems for financial records, reporting and financial controls in accordance with auditing standards and accounting principles

National Eczema Society is the UK charity dedicated to making life better for people with eczema and their families. In the UK, around 1 in 5 children and 1 in 10 adults live with eczema, so lots of people look to the charity for hope and support. Some key responsibilities will include;
* Managing individual giving activity - including activities such asregular giving, one-off donations and appeals, digital fundraising and payroll giving
* Developing and implementing a supporter engagement programme - create a multi-channel communication programme to optimise supporter retention and deepen engagement
* Leading on supporter appeals - working with other function leads to ensure activity is integrated and optimised
* Managing challenge event activity - including promoting and allocating National Eczema Society Gold Bond places in key events
* General management activities - such as budgeting, planning, strategy development

We are hoping to welcome an approachable and knowledgeable Dementia Adviser to work in our South Essex Memory clinic service for 21 hours per week. This is an amazing opportunity to have a rewarding career providing support and guidance to people with dementia and their carers.

- Offering a vital and compassionate advice service to support and guide those affected by dementia.
- Provide community based, face to face services for an increased level of support for more complex cases.
- Managing referrals, assisting clients in assessing their information and support needs in a person-centred manner.
- Providing knowledgeable and trusted information regarding services and benefits available and, where appropriate, assist clients in accessing them.
- Signposting clients to a choice of suitable other sources of help, where appropriate.
- Developing a proactive approach in reaching people with dementia and carers who may not otherwise access our services.
There is no direct care element to the Dementia Adviser role, however we work passionately to provide advice, support and guidance to people affected by dementia. This role will support people who have received a Dementia Diagnosis and help provide the tools and knowledge to make informed decisions about their future post diagnostically.
About you
We are looking for:
- Working experience of assessing people face to face with an ability to assess their needs.
- Deliver advice and guidance with a non-judgmental approach and outstanding communication skills.
- Strong organisational and time management skills to manage your caseload of clients effectively.
- Experience of working in a hospital or community environment
- Good IT skills and be able to travel independently across Essex.
- An understanding of dementia and the needs of those living with dementia and their carers would be an advantage but if you have had experience supporting with other challenges this would be taken into consideration.

As Quality Improvement Fellow, you will develop and project manage the delivery of two national improvement programmes in paediatrics, to support members and accelerate improvement in the quality and safety of care for children and young people and their families.
The Quality Improvement Fellow is a crucial and influential role for the College as you will lead in the development and delivery of the new online Patient Safety Portal and QI collaborative, building on the success of the RCPCH QI portfolio by creating digital resources and shared learning to address national patient safety concerns and support improvement activity in integrated care.
Reporting to and working closely with the Head of Quality Improvement, you will explore research opportunities using data analytics associated with the Patient Safety Portal platform and shared learning from the Engagement QI Collaborative, identifying opportunities to promote the projects’ work on social media platforms and publications in medical academia.
You will also work closely with the Head of Children, Young People & Engagement, senior clinicians and members of relevant College committees and project boards, as well as working with colleagues in the Education and Training Directorate to incorporate patient safety and engagement QI learning into paediatrics training curricula.
With a Medical degree and paediatrics experience at ST3 level or above, you should have also completed the MRCPCH, and have a broad understanding of quality improvement in a clinical context as well as a broad understanding of children’s rights and engagement.
You should have proven experience of delivering multiple objectives to high standards within short time frames and of meeting multiple deadlines, along with demonstrable experience of producing high quality written reports, documentation and information suitable for a range of audiences.
With the ability to maintain effective working relationships through your excellent stakeholder management skills, you will also be able to explain and discuss complex issues clearly for a wide range of audiences, including parents/carers and young people.
A project management qualification or experience in project management, along with experience of research and publication in scientific or medical academia, would be desirable.
The post-holder can be based anywhere in the UK predominantly working remotely with occasional travel to the London office as required.
The Royal College of Paediatrics and Child Health sets and maintains standards for the education and training of all doctors working in paediatrics and child health in the UK. We advocate on child health issues at home and internationally. Additionally, through a variety of activities, the College influences the quality of medical practice for children in hospital and in the community.
