Background

CommUNITY Barnet is an award winning charity reaching over 1 million Londoners. We deliver Healthwatch in three London Boroughs: Barnet, Brent and Newham and are part of the national network, led by Healthwatch England. We aim to help local people get the best from their health and social care services and enable residents to contribute to the development of quality health and social care services. CommUNITY Barnet incorporates the Community Service, the Young People and Families Team, Volunteer Centre Barnet and the Healthwatch Teams. We are an award-winning organisation. In 2012 we won the London Safeguarding Award, Healthwatch Barnet was highly commended as Outstanding Team and Outstanding Volunteer in 2014, our volunteers were recognised by the Mayor of Barnet in 2015 and 2016 and we received the Public Health Excellence in Innovation award from the Parliamentary Undersecretary for Public Health in 2016. In addition we were awarded the Early Intervention and Prevention Award by Children and Young People Now for our work with parents with learning disabilities and their children in 2016.

Community Barnet is a member of national networks including Healthwatch, the National Council for Voluntary Organisations and the National Action for Voluntary and Community Organisations.
