Job description

YVHSC are looking to recruit a qualified Advocate in Waltham Forest to work within the borough, to deliver the NHS Complaints Advocacy service alongside Healthwatch  Waltham Forest. The post is part-time, 3 days weekly, and will be based at the Healthwatch offices in Waltham Forest. Due to the current government restrictions this work is currently being carried out remotely and the postholder will be working from home in the short-term.

The advocate will be responsible for the face to face delivery of the complaints advocacy service and will report to the service manager. A working knowledge and understanding of advocacy services across a range of areas is required, and a sound understanding of discrimination and inclusion issues. The candidate will need to be able to demonstrate good listening and negotiation skills and be used to liaising with key stakeholders without compromising the independence of the advocacy. An advocacy qualification is desirable but direct relevant experience will also be considered. Supervision and support will be provided.

The post holder will work with external partners and linked providers and be responsible for ensuring delivery of services in line with contract and requirements, achieving high quality and positive outcomes for clients.
