Job Description

Independence and friendship are at the heart of everything we do.

We work with people of all ages, both children and adults, living with sight loss and a range of other disabilities. We aim to empower them to take steps to change their lives for the better.

Henshaws Knowledge Village (KV) is a place to share our knowledge and expertise with those experiencing or working with sight loss and disability.

As a member of the senior management team, you will play a key role in the strategic development of the Henshaws Knowledge Village and triangle of care strategies.

The successful candidate will help to develop the Henshaws KV; a place to share our knowledge and expertise with those experiencing or working with sight loss and other disabilities.

Key responsibilities will include:

  • To lead on our triangle of care strategy; an alliance between service user, professional and carer/wider support network, to support enablement and rehabilitation to sustain well-being and independence.
  • Maximise our partnerships across all sectors, including health and social care, and commercial and philanthropic organisations to strengthen our KV. Partnerships will increase and diversify income streams, enabling Henshaws to drive and develop high quality services across our community.
  •  Lead on our partnership with Visionary to ensure Henshaws executes its responsibilities as regional lead for Greater Manchester.

Experience of managing projects and leading a multi-disciplinary team across various locations and disciplines, as well as experience of increasing and sustaining operational income, is essential.

The successful candidate will also have experience of delivering projects, achieving key outcomes which are on time and within budget, and an understanding of effective multi-agency partnership working. It would be beneficial to have an understanding of the needs of clients with visual impairments, learning difficulties and/or other disabilities but full training will be given.

For this role a degree standard or equivalent is essential, as well as a relevant management/project management qualification or evidence of Continuing Professional Development.

To gain a full understanding of the role please read the job description and person specification. To apply submit a completed application form.

Closing date: 12 noon on Thursday 3rd May 2018
