Community Grant Fundraiser
Based: Watford
Working hours: 37.5 hours per week.
Rate of pay: £22,000 – £24,000 per annum
Contract length: Permanent

Hertfordshire Mind Network is a leading countywide provider of mental health services, delivering innovative services from seven Wellbeing Centres around the county.

We are looking for a Community Grant Fundraiser to join our team.

This is a position offering someone with the appropriate values and experience, the opportunity to play a pivotal role as part of the Growth, Marketing & Fundraising team. You will be an integral part of our community fundraising activities, helping us to drive and accelerate community fundraising, income growth and deliver an unrivalled supporter experience. You will also research, prepare and submit engaging small grant applications to help us develop our services.

Responsibilities of the post:

  • Contribute to HMN’s Community Fundraising and Growth strategy as a member of the Growth, Marketing & Fundraising Team.
  • To research, prepare and submit small grant applications to support the growth of the organisation.
  • To work alongside the Head of Growth & Marketing to research funding opportunities, local demographics and needs and develop exciting new service models.
  • Write, edit and proofread communications and grant applications to ensure consistency and compliance with HMN’s branding, values and key messages.
  • Research and develop fundraising opportunities with community groups, organisations and companies across Hertfordshire.
  • Write mailshots, using direct mailing to reach a range of potential and current donors.
  • To work alongside Engagement & Fundraising Manager to ensure that new and existing supporters are sustained and developed in-line with supporter journeys.
  • Ensure that supporter information and data is stored using Charity Log database and always used in compliance with the latest guidelines.
  • Understand how to steward supporters, to motivate and inspire different groups to maximise income through fundraising activities.
  • To ensure that supporters are thanked appropriately in a timely manner.
  • To attend community fundraising events, talks and presentations to ensure that our fundraisers feel valued and have a positive experience.
  • To support with distribution of HMN collection tins, marketing materials and literature for supporters and events.
  • Provide support with communications to wider HMN colleagues, volunteers, and supporters, as required.
  • To support the Engagement & Fundraising Manager to ensure that all necessary risk assessments are completed and followed before, during and after any fundraising activity.
  • Promote collaborative working with colleagues to deliver on fundraising, marketing, and training potential.
