Job Title: Mental Health Trainer
Pay Grade: £20 – 40 per hour dependent on knowledge and experience
Responsible to: Head of Health and Wellbeing
No. of Hours: Part-Time flexible hours. This is a zero hour’s contract and hours are dependent on requirements and based on mutual agreement.
Area of Work: Across Hertfordshire with the potential for some work Nationally.
Hertfordshire Mind Network is the largest charitable provider of mental health services in Hertfordshire, in terms of the number of people supported and range of services offered. We have a presence in all of the county's 10 districts, with established Wellbeing Centres across the county. Our services are available to all residents in Hertfordshire over the age of 18 and we offer dedicated services and outreach for 11- 18 year olds. We provide services and support to approximately 5,000 people experiencing mental ill health each year.
As well as our service delivery, Hertfordshire Mind Network has a wealth of experience in providing mental health training to a wide range of organisations under our training social enterprise. Tailored to meet the needs of organisations, the training service provides high quality training to a range of sectors including the voluntary sector, statutory sector and local businesses. It is the objective of the social enterprise to increase awareness, knowledge and skills of individuals within these sectors in relation to a range of topics pertinent to mental health (in both adults and young people). The service brings together standardised courses, bespoke training sessions, workshops and presentation provision in to a single, cohesive and evidence-based training offer.
We wish to appoint people with experience of delivering training on a range of subjects relevant to mental health in both adults and young people. These might include, amongst others, mental health, suicide prevention, stress management, managing mental health in the workplace, mental health in young people and mindfulness. The focus of our training delivery is Hertfordshire, however, there may also be potential for national delivery. As well as delivering our range of existing training courses, we are looking for enthusiastic and skilled individuals, who will work with us proactively to help improve our existing course content and materials, develop new standard and bespoke courses and who will deliver additional talks and workshops as per our clients’ needs.
We would expect post holders to have a good understanding of the issues facing those with mental health issues, ideally with both recent experience of working within the mental health sector directly in a support and/or educational role and a proven training ability.
We offer a zero hours contract on a tiered rate of £20 - £40 per hour dependent on knowledge and experience.
