Public Affairs & Policy Manager
We are one of the largest learning disability charities in the UK, supporting 2,900 people through our friendly, supportive, creative and diverse teams.
This role reports directly into the Executive Director for People and Communications and will work closely with senior managers and the Communications and Marketing team at Hft.
This is a fantastic opportunity to continue to develop the public affairs and external policy function within a leading learning disability charity. We’re looking for someone who is passionate about using their expertise to help us to raise our profile and influence Government policy around learning disabilities. Working collaboratively with internal stakeholders you will advise senior managers on relevant policy developments and devise and implement a public affairs/policy strategy for Hft.
Salary: £34,908 per annum
Hours: Full time, Permanent - 35 Hours per week
Location: Emerson’s Green, Bristol
Educated to degree standard or with an equivalent professional qualification you will have at least 3 years’ experience of working in the public affairs/policy field, preferably at a managerial level, and in the not-for-profit sector.
You will be a strong and professional communicator, who can distil and present complex issues clearly and confidently. You will have proven influencing and negotiation skills, an excellent eye for detail and the ability to draft a range of written materials. You will understand how a public affairs/policy function relates to other key internal departments and be able to work collaboratively with them.
