Job description

Our Senior Youth & Play Worker will sit at the core of our Children, Young People and Families Team based at Tulse Hill Adventure Playground. You will be part of a small and dynamic team which delivers a wide range of programmes and activities from our Adventure Playground and within local schools. Reporting to the Children, Young People and Families Manager, you will be the senior practitioner ensuring the smooth running of our programmes and services.

The work of the Children, Young People and Families is diverse, and current services include  adventure play, coaching in local schools, homework clubs, youth work, and out of school and holiday services. You will lead on the delivery and planning of all sessions, developing best practice and ensuring monitoring is carried out in accordance to our multiple contractual and funding requirements.

You will understand the wide-ranging challenges facing children and young people and will be flexible in adjusting your practice to meet these needs. Within your team, you will also hold responsibility for communications and outreach - promote our services across Tulse Hill and deliver ongoing and targeted outreach programmes to ensure our services are reaching those who need them most. A strong understanding of how your team sits within the wider work of the organisation and building strong relationships internally, as well as using your excellent communication skills to work within the wider community, is essential to the role.

Hours will include evenings and weekends.
