You will join us as a County Adviser and will be coordinating all activity within Gloucestershire.
County Advisor Responsibilities:
You will work with their farming member representatives, your fellow SW regional team colleagues and be a key local, professional source of knowledge, offering advice and guidance on matters of related policy, work and membership. You will be a highly effective networker, bringing individuals and organisations together to energise lobbying campaigns and promote causes. You will support the work of allocated Boards or Forums to ensure that sector views from across the South West Region are fed into national policy.
Reporting to the SW Regional Director, you will manage a diverse employed field force across the county, who promote their organisation and its services at a local level. Your role is to performance manage their county staff network in order to achieve their membership targets to retain and grow their business and in turn their representative power. Therefore, experience of effectively managing a team is desirable.
Equally you will be able to establish a firm connection and profile with the local membership, ensuring their views are heard. To make that member connection, you will have a good knowledge of current farming and related issues. Therefore, it will be essential to be passionate and knowledgeable about the agri-food sector, ideally having a good understanding of land-based businesses too, whether gained via your education, your background or your experience.
County Advisor Requirements:
Are you a friendly self-starter that is motivated, outgoing, very much a team player and an excellent communicator? You will be people orientated and build lasting professional, business relationships, with a positive outlook and approach. As a strong influencer, you will be driven and have a sense of urgency to get things done. You will enjoy variety and have an energetic work approach, being determined to professionally develop yourself. A high awareness of the key areas affecting farming and food supply chains would be desirable.

Hours: Full Time, Permanent
Salary: Starting salary circa £37,667 per annum
