Facilities & Fleet Manager

If you are an experienced facilities manager looking to utilise your skills within the charity sector, this could be the role for you. This is an incredible role at a leading assistance dog charity where your role will be a part of their essential work that transforms lives every day.

To help them create these amazing partnerships, they need amazing people. Our client has an exciting opportunity for a Facilities & Fleet Manager to join their Finance & Resources team. You will be responsible for the management and smooth running of their two training centres including the vehicle fleet, preventative maintenance, asset management, security and safety. This is an important role designed to ensure that staff and volunteers have the right tools to do their jobs efficiently and effectively.

Facilities & Fleet Manager Responsibilities:

As part of their busy Finance & Resources team you will ensure all facilities comply with statutory regulations and proactively plan and schedule maintenance requirements as well as be responsible for overseeing any building projects, renovations and refurbishments.

You will work together with the Director of Finance & Resources to create strategies focussed around replacement, repair, maintenance and procurement of all plant equipment, grounds, furniture and upkeep of all buildings and fleet.

Health & safety (H&S) is a key component of this role, you will be responsible for ensuring monthly H&S checks of both sites are undertaken and recorded, including scheduling and carrying out regular fire drills. You will lead the H&S committee meetings and ensure issues are escalated appropriately and actions are completed. You will be responsible for responding to emergency situations or other urgent issues involving the premises, equipment and vehicles.

As the organisation supports and hosts a number of events you will be required to support with the preparation of these events including sourcing adequate support (internal or external) for those running events and ensuring all necessary equipment is available and risk assessments are in place.

Facilities & Fleet Manager Requirements:

-  Demonstrable experience of facilities and fleet management
-  Project management experience or qualifications
-  Ability to work collaboratively and with minimal supervision
-  Ability and confidence to influence
-  A full UK driving licence
-  Strong organisational skills with the ability to deliver high standards
-  Strong IT skills including use of Microsoft Office 365

Ideally you will have a recognised Health and Safety qualification or willingness to complete one.

You will be customer focused with the ability to be tactful, diplomatic and sensitive. Along with a flexible and adaptable approach, you’ll have a critical eye for detail with the ability to champion their charity values and interact with their partners, volunteers and supporters in a positive and enthusiastic way. Most importantly you will be passionate about the transformative impact that their assistance dogs provide to their beneficiaries.

Location: This role can be based from their Southern Training Centre (near Midhurst, West Sussex) or their Midlands Training Centre (near Osgathorpe, Leicestershire).

Contract Type: Permanent
Hours: Part Time, 30 per week
Salary: £25,806 to £32,258 pro rata to £20,644 to £26,155 for part time (depending on experience)
