Job description

Head of Modelling and Management Information

Our client has a great opportunity to join them as Head of Modelling and Management Information.

This is a high-profile and strategic role, interfacing regularly with all members of the Executive Board and providing input to discussions at their Board. The post holder will work effectively with leadership at all levels of the organisation, using evidence and analysis to influence the organisation’s key decisions and offering evidence-based challenge where it is needed, and will build a quality-assurance culture across the organisation.

Head of Modelling and Management Information Responsibilities:

• Working with the Chief Analyst, you will develop a modelling and MI function, building on existing work in the MI space and developing data flows to improve modelling in support of strategic decisions.
• Engaging with the Boards and providing thought leadership for their use of operational research, modelling and MI in decision-making.
• Building relationships with key stakeholders, including HMT, the geospatial commission, and BEIS, as well as estate agents and conveyancers.
• Delivering, maintaining and developing business-critical models in support of their strategic and operational decision-making, establishing teams in support of the key areas of the business (in particular Transformation).
• Ensuring their business critical models are fit for purpose, and clearly communicate their results to the Board and other stakeholders.
• Managing a team of eleven staff (they expect some growth with demand).

Head of Modelling and Management Information Requirements:

• Significant experience of communicating analysis with impact to influence strategic decision-making at organisational level, and of providing thought leadership around the use of modelling to support senior decision-making;
• Recent experience authoring papers and presenting findings at Board level;
• Proven track record of using evidence to influence strategic decision-making;
• Experience of developing governance and analytical quality assurance processes to support the creation of business-critical models under significant time and pressure
• Experience of leadership and management of mixed analytical teams in a changing environment to deliver significant programmes of work
