Our client provides residential services for young people aged 16-25 years old. Their aim is to support the young people to live in a non-secure community setting and to achieve their individual goals in preparation for transition to adult life. They have a number of residential homes across the North West and due to their continued growth, they are recruiting an additional Maintenance Operative to join their friendly Technology and Estates team.
As a Maintenance Operative you will work across the Merseyside and Cheshire area ensuring their young people and staff live and work in homes that are maintained to an outstanding standard. You will be involved in carrying out repairs, installing equipment and furniture, painting and decorating, gardening and general DIY tasks.
During this busy period of expansion, you will also support the team in the opening of new homes across the North West ensuring they are ready for inspection, so travel throughout the region will be required. You will be supplied with a company vehicle to undertake the travel.
You will have previous experience in maintenance, building or DIY alongside basic IT skills to be able to utilise their asset system. You will also have good communication skills and a friendly manner as you will be liaising with the residential homes and their young people on a daily basis and working with external contractors to ensure work is completed to an excellent standard.
The Young People in their homes are at the heart of everything they do, so you will be compassionate and have a basic understanding of mental health issues.
