Job description
Be a part of an energetic and vibrant team who are driven by the desire to improve the lives of people living with kidney disease. Our client’s vision is the day when everyone lives free from kidney disease.

Our client is looking for a self-motivated well organised individual to join their Finance team. Reporting to the financial planning and analysis manager and working in their small, ambitious finance team, this role involves maintaining Kidney Research UK’s accounting records and reconciliations in an accurate and timely manner. On a day-to-day basis, you will be familiar with the charity’s fundraising activities and will ensure that income from the various payment sources is recorded accurately and reconciliations between databases are kept up to date. As a key member you will be flexible and willing to work as part of their team, where supporting each other and suggestions for improvements are always welcomed.

The successful candidate will be qualified, part-qualified or equivalent and have a sound knowledge of double entry bookkeeping. In addition, you will have experience of a similar role involving bank reconciliations, nominal ledger journals and general accounting duties, ideally gained within a charity. A high standard of systems literacy will be important, particularly with Excel and a proactive can-do mentality as well as a determination that gets things done "right first time".

Successful candidates will possess excellent interpersonal skills, high levels of accuracy and be able to manage and prioritise their own workload.

If you are interested in the position, please complete the online application form and submit your CV, together with a supporting statement, outlining why you are interested and how you feel you meet the requirements.

We are committed to providing equal opportunities for everyone and encourage applications from all sections of the community.

About Us:

Our client is the leading charity dedicated to kidney research in the UK. Their vision is the day when everyone lives free from kidney disease.

They fund research into all aspects of kidney disease - from understanding the condition, to how we can prevent and treat it. They want to discover better, kinder treatments.

Research has given us life-saving kidney transplants, dialysis machines that filter the blood when the kidneys fail, and drugs to keep us going. But these treatments come at a cost. They can be gruelling, confining, relentless. A transplant is not a cure, they rarely last a lifetime.

Kidney disease still affects three million people in the UK. And one million of those don’t know they are at risk. That’s three million people who are someone’s parents, grandparents, children, friends.

And kidney failure is rising, as are the factors contributing to it, such as diabetes and obesity.

That’s why their work is more essential than ever.

Research is what they do. It is the only way to discover future preventions, treatments and cures. It is vital to keep our loved ones safe. Your support is crucial to make this happen.

We’re here to be heard, to make a difference, to change the future. Kidney disease ends here.
