Policy Advisor - Poultry

Our client is at the forefront of British agriculture and represents the interests of farmers and growers across England and Wales. Promoting competitive and socially responsible agriculture and horticulture, we influence policy at the highest levels to ensure the long-term viability of our members.

Policy Advisor Responsibilities:

In conjunction with the Chief Poultry Adviser you will be the recognised expert on the poultry meat and egg sector. You will help to maintain and enhance the position as the most effective and valued provider of trade association services to poultry farmers in England and Wales. Additionally, you will contribute towards the production of the specialist poultry publications, promote products and services and from time to time you will represent the in the press and media. An interest in electronic communication to members and stakeholders – both online content, newsletters and social media - are key elements of the role..

Policy Advisor Requirements:

This is an exciting and high profile position, requiring technical and commercial knowledge of the poultry sector and issues facing poultry farmers (much of which will be learnt from a continuous development point of view). Candidates should be member focussed and above all have a positive can do attitude.

Candidates should be educated to HND/Degree level (or hold relevant industry experience). Most importantly, you will be able to network and interact with farmer members, industry stakeholders and government officials, often at a senior level.

Job type: Full Time, Permanent, 35 hours per week

Salary: circa £34,439 per annum
