Job description
Support Officer - Shelter and Isolation

The successful candidate will be responsible for the day-to-day management of six rough sleeper shelter units and six Covid-19 isolation units for those with no fixed abode needing to isolate due to suspected or confirmed Covid-19. The project has run successfully in Elmbridge since December, and is now moving to Surrey Heath for operation until September.

The candidate will need to liaise extensively with local agencies and housing team to address the immediate health and housing needs of clients and to manage any presenting risks. It is expected that the candidate will be able to build on new relationships with referring agencies and ensure these partnerships are working effectively. The role involves a significant amount of lone working, and so the candidate must be confident with lone working, managing risks, and demonstrate the ability to pick skills up at speed.

The candidate must also be confident working with clients who may have positive Covid-19 diagnoses, and adhere to strict bio-secure procedures. The candidate will be expected to liaise closely with our contact from Public Health Surrey, and send regular occupancy and progress reports to our funders.

Experience of working with other agencies and complex needs is highly advantageous, as well as having a sense of energy and confidence to take on a new role and make it work.

Own car and full, valid driving licence that will permit occasional use of manual pool vehicles is essential.
