Trainee Critical Care Paramedic

Location: Benson, Bicester and Stokenchurch
Job type: Permanent, 37.5 hours per week
Salary: £30,000 - £32.500 plus 25% unsocial allowance (rising to £37,500 on completion as qualified CCP)

Our client is one of the UK’s leading air ambulance charities. They continuously push the boundaries of medical intervention, helicopter aviation and on-scene patient care to deliver a unique emergency service to patients, where and when it is most needed.

The Role

They are recruiting for a 2 x Trainee Critical Care Paramedics to join their team of high performing clinical staff operating in a challenging and time critical pre-hospital environment.

To be considered for this role, it is essential that you are a competent HCPC registered paramedic with proven experience of working as an autonomous practitioner with strong decision making capabilities.

Progression through this role to qualified Critical Care Paramedic will focus on the practical and academic development of advanced clinical skills, with operational deployment on Critical Care Response Cars (CCR) and on the dispatch desk. To facilitate this the T/CCP (NHTCM) will not undertake aircraft duties – this will be reviewed as and when any HTCM capacity becomes available.

About you

If you are looking to further expand your career to that of a Specialist Practitioner within the field of pre-hospital emergency medicine, you must meet the following as part of the minimum selection criteria:

Proven HCPC registered Paramedic with at least 3 years post - registration experience, with current portfolio of ongoing professional development
Be an effective communicator who is able make solid clinical decisions in a pressured environment
Have an IHCD Emergency Driving qualification, with a full UK driving licence (not exceeding 3 points dependant upon code)
Have a good level of fitness and pass required selection and occupational health assessments
Commit to undertaking further academic study at higher education level in order to reach Specialist Practitioner level
