London, Greater London
£24,500 per year
Permanent, Full-time
Job description

We are seeking an organised, proactive and relational person with excellent interpersonal skills to join our Communications and Fundraising Team and maximise our impact throughout the UK.

Whilst experience in a fundraising or customer-facing role may be to your advantage, what we really want is someone who will bring their warm personality and a willingness to learn to an environment where you will have lots of space to grow and shape this new role.

This role will be based in our London office. However, we will consider applications for this role as a home-based position.

MAIN TASKS

  1. Increasing supporter retention.
    1. Through phone calls and handwritten cards, thanking Home for Good’s supporters for their donations, working with the Finance Administrator to ensure that 80% of donations are sent a thank you within two working days.
    2. Creating and implementing ideas to thank supporters proactively, such as marking a donor’s anniversary or giving milestones using cards, videos and the phone.
    3. Journeying with volunteer fundraisers, helping them to achieve their income targets.
    4. Organising our annual staff-wide thankathon, phoning and writing cards to donors.
    5. Helping create and refine a welcome journey to delight new donors.

  2. Increasing income by finding new donors.
    1. Supporting fundraising appeals (usually three per year) as part of the project team.
    2. Equipping our regional team to fundraise, by proactively giving them any support and materials they might need to ask for money in churches and at events.
    3. Helping with offline and online donor acquisition, such as organising events and producing research that shows us the best places to find new donors.

  3. Increasing the number of major donors through research and analysis.
    1. Researching potential organisations and individuals that have the capacity to make a significant donation, adhering to Home for Good’s privacy policy at all times.
    2. Helping prepare for meetings so that we can make the best use of a donor’s time.

  4. Contributing to a new legacy income strategy.
    1. Learning about legacy income strategies and techniques from the best in the sector and bringing that knowledge and expertise to Home for Good as we begin to develop our strategy.

  5. Raising prayer support.
    1. Providing sensitive and appropriate opportunities for our supporters to pray for vulnerable children and the families who care for them and the work of Home for Good.

  6. Be part of the Home for Good team.
    1. You will be part of the Communications and Fundraising team and will contribute as required to shared projects and aims.
    2. There will also be opportunities for you to participate in whole-organisation activities and be involved with Home for Good events that take place throughout the year.

This post is subject to an Occupational Requirement that the postholder be a committed Christian under Part 1 of Schedule 9 to the Equality Act 2010.
