Job description

Organisation

Home-Start London (HSL) is a consortium of 12 local Home-Starts supporting families in 24 London boroughs.

Home-Start is a local community network of trained volunteers and expert support helping families with young children through their challenging times. We are there for parents when they need us the most because childhood can’t wait.

The families who come to Home-Start face a wide range of issues but almost all are struggling with isolation and poor mental health. Home-Start volunteers support parents in their own homes to help them navigate whatever stresses they face and help them build the skills, confidence and strength they need to give their children the best start in life.

Job purpose

Reporting to the HSL Board, you will be the public face of this increasingly impactful and dynamic organisation. You will promote the HSL member’s services to potential funders and partners, raise awareness of the Home-Start ethos, benefits and reach. Ultimately, you will bring new income into the network whilst ensuring HSL maintains its strategic direction, achieves its key aims and maintains financial sustainability.  You will have experience of working in a leadership role and have an entrepreneurial and self-motivating mindset.

Join us and you will become part an integral part of a network of organisations committed to improving the life chances of children across London. You will have opportunities to shape and expand HSL at an exciting time in its development.

As an organisation, we are committed to promoting safeguarding and the welfare of all children and adults at risk. Our safer recruitment practices support this by ensuring that there is a consistent and thorough process of obtaining, collating, analysing and evaluating information from and about candidates to ensure that appointees are suitable to work with our children and adults.
