Job description

We’re looking for a marketing and communications intern to help us bring to life Home Start in the local Slough and Berkshire community.

The role will be to work with the Marketing and Communications Trustee and Office Manager to bring to life a number of exciting campaigns over the next year, in addition to day to day media relations, social media management and email newsletters.

You will ideally be a university graduate with ambitions to work in marketing, PR or communications, though a degree is not completely necessary.  You will be a smart self-starter who is keen to get experience in the industry, and potentially with a career in mind in the third sector. 

What is needed is an enthusiastic, can-do and creative approach to support marketing for Home Start Slough.



The responsibilities below outline the role of marketing and communications officer:

  • Activation of creative campaigns led by the Marketing and Communications Trustee
  • Social media management and posting
  • PR and media relations
  • Planning and maintenance of editorial calendar
  • Creating content including images and some video
  • Email newsletters
  • Overseeing update of website
  • Updating leaflets

We are flexible about your hours and will leave you to fit activity around your own availability and manage your own workload, while having regular check in calls and updates with the team.
