If you can…
- Provide vision and collaborative leadership
- Maximise opportunities to secure new funding and partnerships
- Lead campaigning, influencing and public policy work
… then you could be the person to lead the development of Home-Start’s work in Scotland.
Director for Scotland
36 hours per week, based in Edinburgh
Home-Start is a vibrant community network of 31 local charities across Scotland helping families with young children through challenging times. In Scotland, over 1500 volunteers support over 3,500 families and nearly 6,500 children each year through compassionate, confidential help to parents, carers and families when they need us most.
You will have strategic responsibility for the leadership and development of Home-Start UK’s work in Scotland and provide vision, support and collaborative leadership for our network of independent local Home-Starts.
As expected, you will have experience of leadership and partnership working, as well as managing strategic funding relationships and a track record of working together with others, including across the third sector.
You will have worked successfully to influence local or national government policy and have engaged with elected representatives at various levels. This means you will be able to demonstrate an understanding of the structures and working of the Scottish Government and Scottish Parliament, local government children and families’ governance and practice, have connections with health services, and significant knowledge of the wider early years and family support environment in Scotland.
Finally you will have well-developed networking, representational and negotiating skills, as well as excellent collaborative leadership, diplomacy and relationship building ability.
Closing date for applications: Monday 6 April 2020.
Interviews will be held on 23 April in Edinburgh.
