Job description
Fundraising Manager

Hope and Homes for Children is looking for a Grants Partnerships Manager to join us and make families, never orphanages the new narrative. This is an exciting opportunity to be part of our friendly, experienced Grants Partnerships team and would be perfect for someone looking to gain more experience in international development fundraising from trusts and foundations with a focus on child protection and the SDGs. We are looking for availability to start towards the end of 2021 and will be offering this role on a 12 month basis. One of our team members recently said this about working in our Grants team:

“Working in the Grants Team at Hope and Homes for Children is a fantastic experience, and one which offers great opportunities for developing your skills, knowledge, and career within Fundraising and International Development. The team are highly skilled, welcoming, and collaborative, and this combined with strong and experienced leadership, ensures you’re always supported to perform at your best. HHC is a vibrant and dynamic place to work, and it’s an incredible exciting time to join the charity, which has ambitious goals across the coming years. Working in the Grants Team will enable you to support this and offers you the chance to have tangible impact on the lives of children globally. I cannot recommend the team highly enough”.

Fundraising Manager Responsibilities:

Working with our team of 7 grants fundraisers you will play a vital role in securing and growing our grant making income. You will develop new and existing relationships with grants makers, put forward compelling proposals, produce reports and updates, monitor income for your own portfolio and ensure grant making activity is accurately captured in our database.

Fundraising Manager Requirements:

You will need knowledge of international development and the grants fundraising environment and have strong communication skills and an eye for detail. You will be naturally collaborative and able to manage a variable workload with tight deadlines.

About Hope and Homes for Children:

Orphanages don’t protect children, they harm them. Put simply: the last thing an orphanage can provide is the first thing a child needs - someone to love them.

Science shows what we all know, that the bond between a child and their family is vital for their development. Decades of evidence proves that orphanages harm children, subjecting them to high levels of sexual and physical abuse, as well as extreme neglect.

Children always belong in families. They need protection, encouragement, play, laughter and love. They need somewhere to call home and someone to love them. You can help us make this a reality for children.

You will be joining a brave, can-do organisation and an ambitious, collaborative and multiskilled team. You’ll be encouraged to think and act big and you’ll be mandated and supported to do what’s needed to achieve our mission. You’ll work with dedicated, passionate champions who are ready to take bold steps to inspire change - advocating for our cause, engaging individuals, communities and organisations across the globe in the foundational importance of family love for children. As the world reels from the impact of Covid, there is increased risk of families experiencing the poverty, lack of support and desperation that drives children into orphanages. There is vital work to be done in ensuring this does not happen. If you believe every child belongs in a family, join us as we consign orphanages to history.
