Job description

Do you have a keen eye for a story and a strong news sense? Do you want to work for a dynamic national charity at the centre of shaping and responding to end of life issues?

We are seeking a creative and skilled Media and Communications Officer who can support Hospice UK’s ambitious communications and media plan, with a focus on fundraising and corporate partnerships.

Hospice UK is the national charity working for those experiencing dying, death and bereavement. We work for the benefit of people affected by death and dying, collaborating with our hospice members and other partners who work in end of life care.

We believe that everyone, no matter who they are, where they are or why they are ill, should receive the best possible care at the end of their life.

You will be joining a busy and forward-thinking Communications and Engagement team, looking to promote Hospice UK’s income generation work through the media and other communications channels. You will seek out, develop and disseminate stories to engage new and existing audiences, supporting the organisation’s new media relations strategy, as well as helping the Income Generation team to design and deliver communications strategies to promote a number of priority projects, including the Compassionate Employers programme.

A talented storyteller, with proven copywriting skills and knowledge of traditional, digital and social media channels and platforms, you’ll have an ability to spot a strong story and tell it powerfully. You’ll have excellent communications skills and strong ability to build relationships with colleagues across an organisation to produce public-facing media and communications content.
