This role has oversight of the community, events and individual giving programmes, and the right candidate will have a proven track record of fundraising, achieving high standards and growing fundraising income.
You will have a significant impact on developing our community-based fundraising activities, creating and accessing exciting and meaningful opportunities to engage individuals, schools and organisations through both face-to-face and virtual means, prioritising donor retention, community building, and ensuring fundraisers are cultivated, stewarded and thanked.

About the role
We are delighted to share a fantastic opportunity to join the HiA UK Supporter Relations (Fundraising) team.
You will be a key member of the team, working closely with the Head of Supporter Relations and Communications Lead. You will be the first point of contact for our supporters, providing a nurturing approach through regular engagement, encouragement and general support to those who give.
In the world of fundraising, is it important to understand that ‘the supporter is not chosen by us, but they choose us’. With this in mind, your role is an essential part of us showing our appreciation and in turn, encouraging our supporters to continue to engage and give through our donor journey plan.
You will coordinate activities in all areas of Supporter Relations such as raising awareness, fundraising activities, managing and attending events. You will provide essential administrative support through financial and data management. Full training will be provided, if necessary.

For this role, you would need to be someone with a passion for those who have suffered homelessness and be completely aligned with our values, vision and mission. Our model provides not just shelter and housing know-how, but also the friendship of a church. Together with over 100 churches, we provide direct support to over 350 people on any one night, many of whom others have given up on. They all require not only housing, but holistic support.
Our vision is for every church to lovingly provide the homeless with a home. The tragedy of homelessness is in every community. We believe that with our help, every church can do something about it.

Job Purpose
We are seeking a confident, detail driven professional to help us drive growth and reputation initially in the Southeast of our catchment area. They will play a crucial role in lead generation, stakeholder management and building awareness of ZHC and the work we do. This is wide reaching, also encompassing tenant engagement, and other marketing and engagement activities such as eMarketing, copywriting, and the administration where appropriate of those activities into our CRM.
Key Responsibilities
Working with the Marketing, Engagement and Development Manager and wider Engagement team, on the delivery of both the Marketing and Engagement Strategy and Tenant Engagement Strategy by engaging in the following key activities:
- Lead generation - to work collaboratively with all departments to ensure smooth delivery and compliance within a lead generation capacity, looking for property and new estate agent partners taking care to keep good records
- Relationship building - build and maintain strong and lasting relationships within key stakeholder groups to create long-term support and future growth for the charity
- Copywriting - craft engaging copy for a variety of platforms (including blog posts, web copy, newsletters, intranet news updates, charity magazine) and tailored to a variety of stakeholders
- Email marketing - creation and management of email newsletters and campaigns to a range of key audiences
- Event management - assist in the delivery of our calendar of feedback events
- Website management - ensure our website supports the marketing and engagement strategy, collect and analyse data using Google Analytics
- SEO - undertake keyword research, write SEO optimised content, manage Google Ad campaigns
- Charity volunteers - utilise, support and grow our existing volunteer base
- Feedback - manage channels of communication with different stakeholders
- Reporting - provide reports on Marketing & Engagement activities to the MEDM and other parties as required
- CRM - assist the MEDM and liaise with the Digital Support to ensure that accurate and up to date records are maintained and accessible, via an electronic CRM with confidentiality protected according to GDPR
- Respond to enquiries from the public, volunteers, fundraisers etc (by phone, mail, email, social media and in person) including requests for information and material etc.

Desired:

JOB DESCRIPTION & DUTIES
As a Corporate Fundraiser you be for planning, managing, implementing, and delivering the Corporate Income Generation Target. You will play a key and critical part in the Income Generation Team collaborating with the CCO and Head of Events, working with businesses who have already chosen to support Happy Days, whilst also generating support from new businesses. You will be passionate about the provision of care to the homeless and those in often severe crisis in our region. You will have an ability to inspire, motivate and empower those around you. We envisage the role will generate in excess of £150,000 per annum.
· BUSINESS LEAD PLANNING - Undertake a thorough review of existing business donors to date, identify gaps and priorities with the aim of developing a robust plan to deliver the targets.
· CORPORATE INCOME GENERATION - Generate £150,000+ per annum in funding. Build upon and maintain existing relationships with business supporters through company donations, entry into the Foundation Club, Sponsorship opportunities, employee fundraising and volunteering.
· INCOME STREAMS – Responsible for maintaining and developing the Foundation Club to a minimum of 100 members, selling sponsorship opportunities across events and assets.
· BUSINESSES - Research, identify and recruit new business, supporters, develop effective donor stewardship plans, ensuring all donations are thanked, valued, and fed back to.
· REPORTING – Produce weekly activity reports and monthly progress against the target plan for review by the CCO/CEO and Board of Trustees
· NETWORKING - Source innovative methods of engagement and fundraising to unlock support and reach new audiences.
· CORPORATE MARKETING - Write and produce compelling and persuasive proposals and pitches for to deliver to businesses cover the range of income areas.
· STEWARDSHIP - Build long term relationships with prospective and current supporters; Ensure stewardship plans for supporters (corporate, major donor, statutory) are implemented and develop strategies for new supporters that come on board
· GROWTH STRATEGY - To support the Income Generation Strategy for 23-26 to achieve the Charity growth plan and to transform the unrestricted funds to 80/20 % split.
- CORPORATE GIVERS – Build strong local networks and engage corporate givers to join our Foundation Club. Hold accountability for achieving the foundation club target.
- GENEROUS GIVERS – Accountability for income generation through Generous Givers. Developing strong relationships and build supporters of our work.
- BRAND VALUES – Represent the charity at external events in line with the charity values and brand guidelines.
- ADMINISTRATION – Completion of weekly contact report demonstrating income achieved, leads followed and contact with regular givers. Be able to complete and carry out administration duties relevant to the post to ensure that you can carry out your role appropriately and effectively.
- BUILD ENGAGEMENT - Source content from our bloggers and social media communities to help build engaging content for both the website and social media to feed in to our marketing lead.
- FUNDRAISING BEST PRACTICE - Ensure that all fundraising complies with all relevant codes and charity/fundraising laws, including the Code of Fundraising Practice, GDPR and industry best standards.
· SAFEGUARDING - Take responsibility for Safeguarding of employees, volunteers, and residents at events in line with the Safeguarding Policy and Procedures. Produce and act on relevant risk assessments for each event to Safeguard our people and manage risk.

As travel will be necessary as part of this role it is essential you will have your own vehicle, hold a full, clean driving licence and be insured for work purposes.
You will be required to undergo a DBS check, please note that a conviction may not exclude candidates from appointment but will be considered as part of the recruitment process.
Your will be required to undertake Safeguarding Level 3 training within one week of commencing the role.
