The St Mungo’s Pan London Rough Sleeping Teams (No Second Night Out and Somewhere Safe to Stay) provide a rapid response service, intervening to ensure no one needs to sleep rough. We are currently looking for people to join our teams as Night Assessment Workers in our No Second Night Out Assessment Hubs. In these roles you will: 

• Work as part of a busy team environment working closely with those affected by rough sleeping. 

• Provide a safe and supportive environment at night to clients; carrying out assessment when clients first arrive out the service.  

• Work on a 7 day weekly night rota pattern with an average of 3 waking night shifts in a row (for example 8pm–8.30am or 9pm–8am)

These crucial roles will suit people with an interest in in developing key skills to build a career working in a support role, as well as:

• Some experience of dealing directly with the public and/or customers in a busy service environment. 

• Good communication skills and the ability to work with others effectively to get things done.

• Some understanding of the issues faced by homeless or vulnerably housed people and the difficulties they experience in accessing services.

Our hostels offer a range of services to clients at different stages in the process of change and works closely with an adjacent health and advice centre operated by partner agencies. Campbell Rd Young Peoples service provides support and housing for 55 young people in Tower Hamlets that are either leaving care of affected by youth homelessness. The Support Worker role will be to manage a caseload of approx 7-10 young people .You will be expected to deliver positive outcomes for all our young people and support them to reach independence, keep safe and maintain their tenancy's. Aside from support workers delivering support there is a strong element of housing management associated wit this role, for example managing rents, raising/monitoring repairs and health and safety.

About the Role:

Waking Night Support Worker will work in line with person centred risk assessments; support plans and liaise with Support Workers to provide comprehensive handover and partnership working. They will be observant of changes in behaviour and presentations ensuring appropriate actions are taken to document and report changes in support needs of young people. Waking Night Support Worker will be able to carry out all necessary health and safety actions including light cleaning tasks and environment management. Furthermore they will actively seek out ways to work with the team and stakeholders to improve the experience of young people in the service. Nacro have launched the Community Support Service – Tier 2 (CAS-2) which is a national service commissioned by Ministry of Justice to provide accommodation as an alternative to custody. 

This role is based within our team in the East of England. As a Support Worker, you will provide exceptional housing support services and housing management services to a diverse range of service user including those on Bail, prison leavers, and those going through the criminal justice system. The Team provides flexible and holistic support to residents with a wide range of support needs. We aim to support them to find and keep a stable home at the end of their CAS-2 placement. You will manage a caseload of clients in properties in your allocated patch in the East of England.

This role provides an excellent springboard into other criminal justice professions and housing roles.

Key Responsibilities

• Plan and deliver effective support and safety plans with the service user referring to specialist agencies as required.
• Ensure that properties are always adequately equipped, maintained, furnished, and cleaned.
• Support residents to understand responsibilities that will help them keep their CAS-2 and future accommodation.
• Empower and motivate service users to identify and achieve desired outcomes.
• Develop a move-on plan with service users at the earliest opportunity, identifying realistic options for their future home.

We are looking for a Support Worker to work as part of a service that provides late-night and early-morning outreach for women who are sex working and supports women who are homeless or at risk of homelessness.

Position: Centre Support and Outreach Worker

Salary: £26,800 - 30,800

Hours: Full time, 36 hours per week (Working pattern includes 1 outreach shift per week, which

About the role

The Post Holder will work within Spires’ Women’s Service. This service is comprised of:

A dedicated nighttime outreach service to support women who are involved in street-based sex working. This includes follow up work, casework, and multi-agency working.

Centre-based support for women with complex needs who are homeless or at risk of homelessness. This also includes casework and supporting Spires’ Housing and Homelessness team.

Key responsibilities will include:

· Supporting a caseload of clients

· Completing one nighttime outreach shift a week (this is carried out in the Spires car)

· Supporting in the running of Spires’ women’s drop in services

· Supporting Spires’ Housing and Homelessness service where required

· Representing Spires to external stakeholders at multi-agency meetings

· Ensuring detailed and accurate records are kept of all client work.

About you

You will have previous experience of working with people exhibiting complex needs and people experiencing homelessness. Ideally you will have experiencing supporting women with some of the following support needs: substance addiction, mental health needs, domestic violence, no recourse to public funds and sex working.

You will also bring with you the following skills and experience:

· Experience of challenging appropriately and maintaining clear and appropriate boundaries.

· Networking and effectively liaising with specialist service providers or agencies in order to establish and/or improve access to services for clients.

· Sound understanding of the issues faced by women and other individuals involved in sex work.

· Understanding of the legislation around supporting the victims of Domestic Violence.

· Understanding of the effects of trauma on people and how to work in a trauma informed way.

· Good understanding of safeguarding practices in outreach work, social care and/or day centre environment.

· Good understanding of confidentiality and working with sensitive information.

Their hostels offer a range of services to clients at different stages in the process of change and works closely with an adjacent health and advice centre operated by partner agencies. Operationally, the service focuses on promoting recovery, providing assessment, support and resettlement services within a framework of active engagement and person-centred planning. The project is committed to supporting continued client participation in all aspects of its work. 

About you 

Above all they are looking for enthusiastic people who have a genuine desire to support people to transform their lives. We want to hear from you:

• If you have good interpersonal and listening skills; patience and resilience. They will provide you with the knowledge and training you need to work with clients in a holistic and person-centred way. 

• If you have a good understanding of the complex issues faced by homeless people; personal experience of homelessness yourself and some experience of supporting vulnerable people through a process of change.

• For their women only roles you will have particular understanding of  the issues faced by women experiencing multiple disadvantages, including homelessness and abuse and the difficulties they experience in accessing services.
