We have an opportunity for a Customer Communications Specialist to join the Corporate Affairs Team on a 12 month fixed term basis, working 30 hours a week.
You'll be based from our Basingstoke office, although with offices in Bristol, Christchurch, Exeter and Newbury, we can be flexible on your base location.
The role will combine both home and office working to ensure a positive work/life balance.
The Role
You'll support the business in achieving its priorities through effective customer communications, advising on the right channels and messages to keep SNG's customers informed and engaged.
As a Customer Communications Specialist you'll create, develop, execute and project manage strategic and tactical communication plans. This will involve producing and delivering creative, engaging content and campaigns for our customers through multiple channels, including web, social media, email and SMS, direct mail and more.
It's an exciting time at SNG as we integrate our communications for former Sovereign and former Network Homes customers and establish a Community Foundation. You'll be part of supporting the transformation and change programme as we move forward together.
Other key responsibilities include:
- Working closely with key stakeholders, listening to and understanding their communication requirements and providing them with expert support.
- Working to align customer communications with external and internal communications, and with our strategy and values.
- Managing and measuring the effectiveness of our communications, including external benchmarking and best practice.
- Understanding the pressures and issues facing the social housing sector and keeping up to date with best practice in Communications and PR, particularly changes to communications innovation, legislation and codes of practice and sharing this insight with colleagues.
What we're looking for
This position would suit candidates who have previous Customer Communication experience, possibly in a housing association, local authority or similar non-profit organisation.
- Excellent written communication and interpersonal skills, including the ability to adapt your tone and write copy/create campaigns designed to generate a response or change in behaviour.
- Demonstrable experience of producing engaging customer content and campaigns.
- Experience of briefing and working with designers and creatives.
- A good understanding of MS Office packages, including Word, Excel and Publisher.
- Use of email marketing and social media management platforms and tools.
- Experience of working to deadlines and achieving targets through own work and the work of partners.
- Work well within a small team and on your own initiative.
- Be highly organised with a methodical approach.
You may need to travel between our offices and attend external events on occasion, so you'll need access to transport and be happy to travel.

Chalk Farm Tenant Management Organisation (TMO) is looking for a competent leader with a passion for social housing to manage our housing organisation.
Located close to the historic Camden Market, the TMO provides housing services and community activities for residents of the estate. As estate manager, your main duties will be to:

About the role
As News and Media Manager, you will lead a hard-working and experienced team of media experts to bring to life Crisis’ work, demonstrate the solutions needed to tackle homelessness and inspire the public and politicians to join our mission to end it for good. You will have significant experience of working in a challenging, fast-paced news and media environment to secure high-profile coverage and championing the voices of marginalised people. Experience and knowledge of managing and influencing senior internal and external stakeholders is essential in this role, as is the ability to navigate competing priorities to develop and implement creative media strategies that reach a diverse range of audiences.
To be successful in this role, you will be able to demonstrate excellent knowledge and experience of working with the media to help secure policy change at a national government level, outstanding people and project management skills and proven experience when it comes to handling reputational risk. Encompass is a local charity based in and covering North Northamptonshire. The charity supports those facing poverty, homelessness and addiction, through the delivery of multiple services including two homeless accommodations, a rehab and aftercare, multiple foodbanks and a soon to be opened day centre.
With around 30 staff and nearly 100 volunteers across all the projects, this role is responsible for leading the people to deliver compassionate, responsive and impactful services. The post holder will help build and implement the strategic direction of Encompass, working with the Board of Trustees to fulfil its strategic and governance duties.
Encompass has grown significantly in the last five years. We began as a Christian organisation, we retain the ethos and embrace all faiths or none. The next few years are about achieving our priorities according to our strategic plan including another rehab and the opening of our Day Centre. Key Responsibilities
Leadership and Management

- Work to deliver budgeted fundraising income.
Compliance and Governance
- Ensure all legal and regulatory requirements are in place, reviewed and monitored.
- Take responsibility for all health and safety across all properties, ranging from high need accommodation to storage facilities.
- To maintain and develop effective human resource systems for the recruitment, management, support, training, appraisal and development of staff and volunteers.

You will be responsible for delivering a safe and secure living environment for the young people in our Hostel and Supported living accommodation as well as ensuring that our offices are maintained to a high standard and provide a place of welcome to our clients. Centrepoint, the UK’s leading youth homelessness charity, is looking for a Corporate Partnerships Manager to join our Relationship Fundraising Department for a 3 year fixed term contract. The role sits within an 11 person Corporate Fundraising team, which has an overall target of £3.5m.

The Partnerships Manager will primarily be responsible for managing a new and exciting multi-year strategic partnership. · Develop effective working relationships with a range of cross functional teams and key internal and external stakeholders, including: Head of Relationship Fundraising, Director(s) of Fundraising and Housing, Head of Communications, Centrepoint Programme Leads.
· Oversee the Partnership Group, made up of senior internal stakeholders who oversee the governance of the partnership, as well as the Performance and Monitoring Group who support the programme, finance and reporting delivery for the partnership.
· Represent Centrepoint and the partnership at our own and third party events.
· Actively participate in all team meetings and support other team members.
· Potentially manage other corporate partnership accounts as required.
· Work from partner office (an hour by train from London) at least twice a month.

Housing Support Practitioner
Contract and term:Self-employed 12 month contract, with a 3-month probation
Hours: 35 hours per week Mon – Fri with some occasional evenings when needed
Location: Flexible, with time split between home, our Southwark office 3 days per week
About the project
In an innovative partnership with Southwark Council, Southwark Law Centre, and Impact for Urban Health, we’ve been supporting close to 200 private renters over the last 3 years who have been threatened with eviction by their landlords, or are living in temporary accommodation, to sustain their tenancies and/or find onward housing in the social or private sector that is suitable for their health, needs and aspirations.
About the role
We are looking for an experienced, enthusiastic, and passionate support worker to take up a full-time role within our organisation as a Housing Support Practitioner in our small and dedicated team. The role will be based mostly in Southwark, and you will be working in partnership with the Council’s housing officers, solicitors, community services, social prescribers, and mental health support workers to coordinate tailored support for each client to avoid eviction and sustain tenancies, mediating with landlords where necessary and providing advice for onward housing when needed with the support of the Housing Link Worker. The objectives of these programmes are to avoid evictions, sustain tenancies or move to a better suited property, increase employment opportunities, improve wellbeing, and increase educational outcomes. You will be working in partnership with other stakeholders such as schools and health professionals to improve family health, build relationships and engage families and individuals and their networks of support.

You will have experience of working with individuals with complex needs. You will be an enthusiastic person who is self-motivated, confident and thrives when working independently with a passion to support change. You will have excellent interpersonal skills, experience delivering holistic support, be a solution-minded thinker, have a good understanding of strength-based approaches and be able work sensitively and empathetically with people in vulnerable circumstances. You will also have experience working in a systemic and therapeutic way. It is also important to us that you have the competency to work with people from a variety of cultural backgrounds. To work as part of a team and independently, the roles require you to think creatively and use the resources around you effectively.
