Key Responsibilities:
- Provide high quality information and support in an empathetic and professional manner.
- Conduct a holistic needs assessments for each service user according to their individual circumstances
- Working with each service user to establish the most appropriate sources of support, and agree an action/support plan with them
- Provide a face to face service when there is an over-riding need to do so by visiting service users
- Collaborate with other agencies/service providers who can offer additional support options
- Liaise with partners, ensuring that agreed actions are followed up
- Log and communicate details of cases in a timely and accurate manner to ensure that records are up to date and the wider team has the information they need to provide support.
- Explore, assess and escalate any safeguarding concerns according to the RABI safeguarding policy.
- Contribute constructively to the development of the Service Provision team and function, for the benefit of service users.
- Work constructively and collaboratively to solve problems with the support of colleagues.
Person Specification:
Essential
- Experience providing services to vulnerable service users, listening and supporting in a non-judgemental way.
- Knowledge and insight into state benefits and complementary support services (whether national / local / statutory agencies.
- Excellent communication skills, being able to establish rapport and build trust quickly.
- The ability to build a practical plan alongside a service user and adapt approach to different circumstances and personalities.
- Knowledge of data protection principles and how to apply them.
- Knowledge or experience of safeguarding best practice.
- Knowledge and insight into complementary support services (whether national / local / statutory agencies).
- Excellent IT software skills and aptitude to adapt to new systems and processes.
- Flexible, resilient and solution focussed working with sensitivity and integrity.
- Collaborative, constructive, and solution-focussed
- Ability to work flexibly, depending on the needs of the team and of service users.
Desirable
- Farming background or knowledge of the farming community environment.
- Experience providing support remotely.
- Relevant qualifications in health and social care

Due to an internal promotion, we’ve got an excellent opportunity for a Contracts Manager to join our Housing Management team, to ensure high quality service delivery, focussing on getting things right first time and continuously improving the service.
Contracts Manager
Location: Birmingham, Bath Row, B15 1LZ
Salary: £50,600 per annum
Hours: 35 hours per week
Contract Type: Full Time, Permanent
The Role
You’ll lead on the procurement, management and monitoring of different service contracts across our business, from grounds maintenance to tree surgery! You’ll be developing and implementing contract management frameworks, as well as undertaking regular performance reviews.
Customer involvement is a key part of this role, gaining their insights and support when services are procured, and ongoing monitoring, through inspections and customer satisfaction. You’ll be responsible for ensuring customers are kept informed about performance and variations to contracts, as well liaising with customers to resolve issues and complaints. You’ll also be responsible for providing performance related data for internal and external reporting.
Our ideal candidate?
- You’ll be a customer-focussed individual with experience of developing and managing stakeholder relationships to provide high standards of service.
- You’ll have knowledge of communal / estates management services and budgets, contract management frameworks and financial controls.
- You’ll also have experience of managing others, as well as monitoring performance.
- Having knowledge and exposure to ensuring and enhancing compliance is key to this role, as well as being keen to continuously improve services.
- Managing approximately 15 contracts at different stages of their lifecycle, you’ll be highly organised, and be able to effectively manage competing priorities and deadlines.
- Ideally, you will have a sound knowledge of service charges and how these are calculated, although this is not essential.

Housing Ombudsman Case Manager

The Role
As a leading Housing organisation, we take pride in ensuring that our tenants receive the highest level of customer service whilst remaining focused on the changing regulatory landscape. Join us now as a Housing Ombudsman Case Manager where you’ll help us to improve customer experience and mitigate reputational risk.
This is a brand-new role we’ve created where you’ll liaise closely with Senior Leadership teams and the Housing Ombudsman to manage complex and involved complaints. This is a key role where the successful candidate will be imperative in thoroughly understanding legislation and regulations, overseeing compliance with regulatory requirements and ensuring outcomes are clearly audited.
As the Housing Ombudsman Case Manager, you’ll be responsible for:
- Collating and providing full case histories to the Housing Ombudsman.
- Ensuring compliance with evidence requests and delivering outcomes through partnership working with Senior Leadership teams.
- Capturing meaningful data and producing reports that outline the root cause of complaints.
- Developing action plans to lead the reduction of complaints and drive service improvement.
- Horizon scanning of the external environment to adapt working practices when managing complaints.
We’ll support you to enhance your case management skills by providing training with our legal partners, equipping you with the skills to manage cases effectively.
Our ideal candidate? We’re looking for an articulate individual with strong investigative skills and high attention to detail. Your application will also demonstrate the following skills and experience:
- You’ll have experience of managing complex legal or Ombudsman cases.
- You’ll have experience of producing robust reports for senior/board level audiences.
- You’ll have the ability to engage with senior stakeholders / Directors across the organisation to influence decision making and negotiate successful outcomes.
