The Role
You'll be based out of our Wembley office with some travel across Central London and boroughs such as Lambeth and Brent as well as East Hertfordshire. The role will combine both home and office working to ensure a positive work/life balance.
Key Responsibilities
Reporting into the Funding and Innovation Manager you will support and develop a fundraising strategy that enhances and adds value to the aims of SNG's Thriving Communities and Customer Impact strategies. The Funding Specialist will work across localities and directorates to lead a number of funding project teams to bring funding into Sovereign communities and to charities we work with.
- To take responsibility to deliver the right outcome for our customer in a safe and timely way
- To support the Fundraising and Innovation Manager to implement a fundraising strategy demonstrating impact across the localities
- Support implementation of governance oversight for fundraising and systems and processes
- To bring in external funding to benefit Sovereign communities and customer facing teams around the following themes: Financial & Digital Inclusion, Employment and Training, Community action and Engagement
- Lead projects, bids and programmes that bring in external funding to Sovereign Communities and to our charities
- Innovate by supporting the testing and piloting new programmes and partnerships and identify opportunities to the Head of Partnerships and Funding
- Build and maintain excellent relationships with stakeholders, including funders, businesses, local authorities and national agencies
What we need from you
The Specialist will be responsible for maintaining high data quality in our Community Investment data sources. Ensuring that data is held centrally for full transparency and that suitable contract arrangements are in place for the continued management all compliance elements within your defined areas.
You should have demonstrable experience in a similar role or have knowledge within funding, employment, or training. We're also looking for:
- Experience in previous roles of securing external fundraising bid writing and or public sector tenders and contracts
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Strong innovation mindset
- Confident with budget management and financial systems
- Ability to validate and impact assess, to escalate data issues as required
- Understanding of data breaches, associated implications and industry standards of preventing/triaging a breach.
- Ability to impact assess and to understand the difference between ‘major' and ‘minor' data issues.
- Clear communication skills, with the ability to form effective relationships with multiple stakeholders at various levels

Role Requirements
As part of the site services team the role holder will be expected to liaise with managers and staff across the Trust. The role holder is expected to work closely with the other members of the facilities team and assist in covering in the laundry, in the deep clean team or other works as and when required.
You will be a natural and enthusiastic housekeeper working not only as part of a team but also individually. You will be health and safety aware, take ownership of your own work, and be understanding of the children’s needs here at The Children’s Trust. Good organisational skills, flexibility and being friendly and caring in nature are a must for this role. Please note that the role requires a significant degree of manual handling and working with houses services and laundry equipment.
With experience of working in a complex environment, across a large and diverse workforce, you will be exceptionally organised with a high-level of attention to detail. You will naturally possess excellent inter-personal skills, and an ability to consult and positively engage with key stakeholders across the organisation.

The Children’s Trust is the UK’s leading charity for children with acquired brain injury, providing expert rehabilitation, education, therapy, and care at our national specialist centre in Tadworth, and to children and their families across the UK, via our Brain Injury Community Service.

This is an incredible role at a prominent assistance dog charity where your role will be a part of their essential work that transforms lives every day.
What you will do:
You will be working within a small team to provide housekeeping cover, cleaning and catering for their on-site training courses, and overnight stays by their clients, staff, or other site users. You will be responsible for ensuring all areas of the site are kept clean to the highest standard and support the housekeeping and catering needs in all aspects of the charity's work.
What they are looking for:
- Highly effective interpersonal skills.
- Excellent communication skills across a range of audiences.
- Experience in providing cleaning services.
- Ability to plan, prepare and cook hot and cold meals.
- Basic understanding of nutrition including knowledge of special dietary needs and food allergies.
- Some knowledge of human physical disabilities.
- Level 2 food hygiene certificate or willingness to obtain one.
- Flexibility to take on additional hours as needed.
You will be happy to work as part of a team and on your own initiative whilst being personable and approachable to all service users. The role requires some heavy and strenuous cleaning duties therefore it is essential that you have the physical capability to carry out these tasks safely.

This role benefits from working at their purpose-built training centre in the rural countryside of Osgathorpe, Leicestershire - some local travel to and from the training centre may be required for weekly shopping trips and collecting/dropping off clients. This is a working training centre therefore you must be comfortable with dogs in the workplace.
The basic hours for the role are 22.5 hours per week, normally 3 days per week however hours will vary depending on charity activities. Some work may include evenings (up to 6.30 pm) and weekends to support on-site training courses for their clients. Working hours will be agreed on a 4-weekly basis. Time off in lieu or overtime pay will be available as appropriate for additional hours worked.
