Our client’s wants to deliver an excellent housing service by listening to their customers, caring about the communities they live in and supporting people to live the life they choose to live and provide a localised and dedicated service with an added personal touch. If you are able to help them, they’re looking for 15 hours per week, worked across 5 days, of your expertise where you’ll really add value. They are flexible around working hours, with start times ranging between 8am – 10am and finishing times between 11am – 1pm.
As a Scheme Manager, reporting to the Leasehold Service Manager you will:

Manage the scheme in an efficient and effective manner, ensuring that a safe, secure, well-kept and pleasant environment is maintained.

Oversee the welfare of their residents that will enable their residents to live independently; ultimately making a positive difference and improving lives and provide a calm and attentive response in the event of an emergency.

Take on the management of service delivery, with particular attention to housing management and maintenance issues.

To foster the development of a tight knit community spirit through the facilitation of regular social events and activities

To promote good communication between residents and their families, the Group and their approved service providers.
You will ideally possess a passion for working with their residents and will appreciate the importance of providing great customer service. Bank Support Workers have the ability to accept any shifts available on an ad-hoc basis across from all of Look Ahead's specialisms including Mental Health, Learning Disabilities, Homelessness and Young People. Bank Support Workers will provide support to customers to help them develop the life skills they require to meet the assessed needs of the customers of the service. They will work with customers to promote social inclusion and alongside other members of the team to promote independent living, encouraging customers to maximise their skills and choices. Within Learning Disability services, this will include providing physical, domestic, emotional and social care. Within Mental Health and Homelessness services they will enable vulnerable people living in a variety of different tenures to manage their tenancies/ licences and move towards greater independence within the community by providing a flexible and individually tailored support package.
While carrying out activities, Bank Support Workers should deal with all customers, visitors and staff in a professional and appropriate manner and report to Look Ahead staff and management any observations relating to customers' welfare.
This role is only suitable for drivers.
This role requires a valid Right to Work for the UK as Look Ahead are not a sponsoring organisation.
What you'll do:
- Working proactively with other members of the team to handle the service caseload and administrative responsibilities
- Building supportive, trusting relationships with customers
- Conducting key work sessions that are innovative and engaging in order to achieve Support Plan goals
- Ensuring ongoing assessment and management of risks associated with customers within an attitude of 'positive risk taking'
- Proactively manage risk and safety both in and outside of their physical living environment
- Support customers to undertake all domestic tasks wherever possible, including practical assistance where they have not yet developed the skills, to ensure customers enjoy a high quality of accommodation
- Undertake all administrative work and keep accurate and comprehensive tenant/customer records to professional standards
- Report any observations relating to customers welfare
- Develop and maintain links with all key agencies and service providers in the local area to provide a range of engagement opportunities for customers in the community
- Enable customers to make full use of community facilities by providing support as directed
- Carry out support duties to enable customers to integrate into the community including e.g. accompanying the customer to attend benefit agency appointments and meetings, go shopping, to enquire at colleges about possible courses, to visit various public amenities
- Empower customers to ensure they receive the service and benefits they are entitled to
- Engage in learning and development activity to increase knowledge and skills
- Ensuring Look Ahead Health and Safety policies are adhered to at all time and to uphold all health and safety responsibilities within relevant policies and local protocols
- Adhering to all other Look Ahead's policies and procedures
- Encourage and enable tenants to pay their rent and to ensure that rent accounts are managed effectively in conjunction with the Housing Management team
- Ensure that referrals are chased proactively so that properties which can be used to house those in need are filled as efficiently as possible
- If a need arises, deliver all aspects of support to enable a customer to develop independent living skills as appropriate to the individual needs of the customer. In some services, this will include delivering personal and physical care as appropriate
- Carry out security duties to ensure the safety of the customers and premises
- Monitor the CCTV throughout the shift
- Undertake any other duties consistent with the grade and nature of the post as may be reasonably assigned

Independent Committee Member of Audit & Risk Committee
Cambridge - mix of online and in person meetings
£2,150 per annum + expenses
Fixed term, 5/6 meetings per year including Board Strategy meetings
Our client is a charitable housing association with a long history of providing affordable housing in and around Cambridge.
It is an exciting time to join them as they have updated their governance structure. Their Board is supported by three committees: Audit & Risk Committee, Remuneration Committee and Customer Experience Group. In addition, the Finance Working Group and the Investment and Growth Working Group also support the Board.
This role provides the opportunity to not only sit on the Audit & Risk Committee, but also to play an integral part of their strategic planning. In this role, you will be part of the Board strategy days.
The Independent Committee Member role on the Audit & Risk Committee would be ideal for a senior finance professional within the social housing sector. You’ll be a qualified accountant with knowledge at a senior level of internal and external audit, strategic management of risk and financial reporting.
It is not essential that applicants have been a Committee Member of a housing organisation before, but applicants should have a commitment to customer service, a knowledge of what makes for good governance, and excellent communication and leadership skills.
