Regional Finance Manager - (Fixed term for 12 months – maternity cover)
Location: Northwest of the UK with a requirement of 2 days per week in the Manchester City Centre office
Starting salary for this position is £40,416 per annum (plus contributory pension)

About the role:
The Regional Finance Manager will deliver strategic financial business partnering services in support of a portfolio of country programmes. The aim pf the role is to ensure compliance with both internal and donor requirements, optimise financial efficiency, and ultimately support the regions programmatic goals. You will be instrumental in providing financial analysis, strategic guidance, and technical support to the region, promoting transparency, integrity, accountability, and effective financial management practices. Your responsibilities include budgeting, forecasting, financial modelling and reporting, analysis and review, compliance, risk management, capacity building, and fostering strong relationships with key stakeholders.
About you:
The successful candidate will have significant financial experience in either commercial or NGO sectors. The role will involve proactively managing accounting tasks, including proposal development, budget monitoring and reporting, while ensuring compliance with internal financial controls and procedures. Strong interpersonal skills are essential for establishing effective working relationships across diverse teams and cultures. Additionally, advanced Excel proficiency is required to add value to business processes and reporting. A minimum ACA, CIMA, ACCA or equivalent part qualification is required for this role.

My client is a Not-for-Profit organisation that supports grassroots bodies working towards more inclusive sexual and reproductive health and rights in South Asia and Africa.
At an exciting time of growth, they are looking to appoint an interim Head of Finance, reporting directly to the Chief Executive.
Key responsibilities:
- Lead on all aspects of the organisation’s finances, ensuring accurate and timely reporting
- Work as part of the SLT to ensure the resources and financial processes align with and support the organisation’s mission and ambitions
- Management of primary accounting functions and processes where required
- Lead and work closely with the SLT on commercial tenders including budgeting, written justifications and financial management arrangements
- Embed a true team culture within the finance unit, ensuring balanced workloads, personal development and colleague engagement are at the highest levels
The successful candidate will be a qualified Accountant with a track record of working at a similar level within the Charity space. You will be as comfortable leading strategic discussions as you are handling numbers and explaining financial information to a non-finance audience.
My client works on a flexible hybrid model, with 1 day a week in their central Bath office. This role has been assessed as inside of IR35.
We are recruiting a temporary finance officer for a human rights charity. You will need strong experience in finance working in month end tasks and reporting . The role is for 2 months +

The Role
Month-end tasks
Process supplier invoices and staff expenses and prepare weekly payment runs in Sage 50 Accounts software.
Send remittance advice to suppliers.
Import staff expenses transactions from Expense's into Sage and reconcile staff accounts to Purchase Ledger in Sage.
Reconcile supplier records within the Purchase Ledger ensuring it is accurate and up to date.
Working with the Database & Insights Officer, post monthly bank receipts and income journals to Sage 50.
Monthly reconciliation of bank, Stripe and PayPal accounts to bank statements.
Reconcile credit card statements monthly.
Prepare and post monthly prepayment journals to Sage.
Prepare monthly reconciliations of income in Sage against Fundraising figures, explaining any variances.
Prepare monthly cashflow statements for review by the Head of Finance.
Reporting
Support the Development team with Donor reporting.
Prepare monthly budget vs actual reports for project teams.
Produce Sage expenditure reports for the Development and Program teams upon request.
General
Monitor the Accounts Payable mailbox responding to emails and requests in a timely manner.
Support the HoF and Development team with any other ad hoc tasks as required.
The Candidate
Extensive experience working in Finance to officer or senior officer officer level
Reconciliation
Working experience with Sage50.
Qualified or Pursuing formal accounting qualifications.
Understanding of charity accounting
Strong IT skills
